Cann at Center

#1

1) Where did this start? Who brought this idea up? Ive seen it around i just dont know how it started

2) Why are people okay with this idea? Has he played center before? Is there a reason this makes any sense i cant find any.

The GM suggested it. I'm going to trust his opinion.

Precisely. And this wouldnt be the first time in history a guy started at guard and went to center. Meester started like this. I believe Jeff Saturday started at guard as well.

I just have a hard time moving a guy who looks great at Guard to a different position.

That being said, settling the center position for a decade is great too.

I trust Dave's decision either way.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Honestly, it's not that difficult to move from center to guard. He's probably a really smart guy that can handle the calls. If that's the case, go for it.

Meester was a natural Center out of college playing out of position at guard as a rookie. He sucked at guard because he'd get overpowered, but he fit right in when he moved to his natural spot. From what I can tell, Cann only played LG in college.

Some guy named Dave Caldwell made mention of it.

I still feel no reason to feel comfortable in this lol

Me either. I think he did a great job at Guard last year. We know what we will get out of him at the guard position.

I hope we draft our center in the 4th round.

Center > Guard

If he can do it then excellent. He would be filling a much more difficult position to fill than guard.

Plus, we need to get more physical at the position. Our centers get pushed around a lot and don't do much pushing. I thought that was one of the biggest problem with our rushing game last year.

I agree with this. Sans Beadles, Dave has found big time talent in the draft with the guard position. Center is more important and if he's good like they expect, could be a great situation

Just draft Tretola or sign a G

I genuinely feel like Cann should slide to LG. Only slide him to C if he can step in at a probowl level because i believe he can be a probowler at G in year 2.

Caldwell said it's a possibility and I'm going to trust him.

In addition to that, if you have the opportunity to get a guy like Osemele in FA (difficult though) and Cann can slide to Center you'd be having a Osemele-Cann-Linder interior line which would be terrific and would help the running game immensely.

I would go stop gap at Center again and draft Nick Linder in the first round next year.
