Quote:Iloka’s been a consistent presence in the back half of the Cincinnati defense over the past three seasons. He’s started 44 out of a possible 48 games and has tallied 187 tackles, 20 pass deflections and five interceptions in that span. The stats are fine on the surface but don’t tell the full story.

The Boise State product’s got the size (6’4″, 225) that teams yearn for at his position, built in a similar mold to that of Seattle’s Kam Chancellor. He’s adept in coverage but has also grown into a stout run defender and an intimidating presence in the Bengals’ secondary. A quick YouTube search of the safety will turn up several crunching blows.

Pro Football Focus named Iloka Cincinnati’s “Secret Superstar” after a standout ’14, noting that his game was well-rounded and continually progressing. Nothing he did in ’15 disproves that notion. Fortunately for the Bengals, they should be able to resign him for relatively cheap because his name hasn’t yet garnered national prominence. They’d be wise to get him back in the mix because, before long, it will be.

If he hits the market do you take a run at him? I would pair him with Ramsey or Tashaun Gipson in FA if they go a different route in the draft.

Yes, absolutely.

He's developed into a very solid player. He'd be a very good addition to Jax's defense IMO.

He was touted as a good "zone" and "single high" FS by some draft analysts when he came out of Boise State.

Would definitely be an upgrade.

Apparently he played a lot of single high for the Bengals as well. Guess I just assumed that they played Nelson back there. He could definitely be a guy to keep an eye once FA starts.

He could definitely be an interesting guy at the position if he hits FA. I really hope we manage to find a FS in free agency and pair him up with Karl Joseph in the second and also see how Sample really is since he was a lost year for him.

Yes I'm desperate for decent safety play. We have the moneys. Make it happen!

I meet this guy last year, he was super nice and genuine. For what it's worth he would be a good person In the community.
