If we draft fournette, do we trade back into first for Lamp?

#1

Let's say we draft fournette at 4 (puke). We know he's not doing anything behind our oline. Do you think tom and Dave plan to try to trade back into the first to get lamp? Or stay put and hope feeney drops? I could see us needing to trade into the middle of the first round to land lamp. This would cost a lot. Probably something like this year's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th along with next year's 2nd. For me Id be ok with this because that would be the only thing that could save fournette. I believe we would have to trade to the bottom of the first to get feeney. No way either of these two fall to us in the 2nd. This just makes the fournette scenario worse because already he isn't worth that pick, but then you are going to need to probably trade up to guarantee yourself a top interior olineman to save the first round pick. Praying we dodge the bullet and go defense first pick. Take best available OL in the 2nd and TE in the 3rd.

I don't think so unless we trade back from 4, get some extra picks, and use that to trade back up. There will be a quality guard available in the 2nd, not Lamp quality but a guy like Feeney or Dawkins.

This seems likely. Feeney seems like our 2nd round pick at this point. Barring any unforeseen fall of someone or a trade back.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

I just cannot see ONE guard going in the first round. I doubt a trade back happens...although would be great. If we go fournette this front office better go all out building the best line they can or the pick will be all for nothing

No. As mush as I like Lamp, I will always oppose trading up unless it's for a franchise QB.

Of course it depends what the jaguars targets are and value board but this draft right here is not one that i would really try to trade up in the early rounds at least. its a very deep draft with a lot of good players. someone is going to slide to our pick in the second, and someone will slide to our pick in the third that we likely have graded higher than draft position.

Trade back or stand pat, but i would not trade up unless something crazy happened like jon allen being available in the late 20's or something along those lines.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

If the Jags are going to select their OLG, it is going to have to be in Rd 2. I think the pick is Dion Dawkins - OG - Temple unless Cam Robinson falls to Pick 35 in Rd 2.

After feeney there is a big drop off. We'd be reaching in the 2nd if we took anot her guard

Just really depends. I wouldn't be opposed to trading back into the 1st round for a guard for the right price. With how many comp picks there are this year, our 4th rounder is almost like a 5th rounder so incorporate that, our 2nd rounder and maybe a 3rd rounder next year

Cam Robinson has some big questions in terms of character. I don't see TC wanting any part of that.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

No, if they pick Fournette, they will not trade back into the first to take Lamp.  I think they will wait for their 2nd round pick.   And they might not even take an OL there, either, which would suck, but it's a possibility.

In your case, I think you are falling too much in love with one player (Lamp).  Saying he's the only player who can "save" Leonard Fournette is way off base.

Stay put in round two and forget about Feeney... draft Dion Dawkins instead. Dawkins is a guaranteed day one starter at LG... so is Feeney, but Dawkins is a better fit for the power run game we're trying to establish.

I don't want him at LG. I want him at RG. I wanna move Cann back to LG where he looked much more comfortable. If we keep him at RG, we're just gonna have a weak link there.

Would love to trade down and get McCaffrey and then use the ammo gained (plus our 2nd) to move back into the 1st for Lamp. Then attack TE, DL, DB, and OL depth for the rest of the draft.
