Sign Jeremy Zuttah and shift Linder back to guard?

#1

Ravens just released their 30 year old pro bowl center who last year graded out as the #14 center out of 37 qualifiers. He is typically in the upper middle for PFF qualifiers, but this would allow us to move Linder back to guard and IMO fill one of the neglected needs of this team (O-Line). I know they will address it in round 2 through 4 in the draft, but I am just wondering what people think, should the Jaguars go after him?

So downgrade at center? No thanks.

Maybe if he's still there after the draft and we still have a need at G.

You cited PFF.  Maybe you should check out the praise they have for Linder.

Here's what they say about Linder's 2016 season:

Quote: 16. Brandon Linder, C, Jacksonville Jaguars (87.0)
<p style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:'Gotham SSm A', 'Gotham SSm B', Gotham, sans-serif;">There is very little to be cheery about on the Jacksonville roster, especially on the offensive side of the ball, but the team’s best player this season has been center Brandon Linder. Linder has allowed 12 total QB pressures, despite pass blocking for almost 500 snaps. He’s been flagged just twice, and has the league’s fourth-best run-blocking grade at the position, with a mark of 83.9.

After his rookie year they said this:

Quote:Stud: There’s no doubt the Jaguars are happy with just how quickly <b>Brandon Linder </b>(<b>+16.6</b>) has acclimatized to life in the NFL. He’s contributed to a top-notch group of rookie guards.

He's better than you seem to think he is.

If the Jags were considering making a move like this, they would have done it for the biggest bargain of FA so far...the also young and very highly graded JC Tretter.

You don't move your center who got All-Pro votes.

I wonder which will happen first: Linder back to Guard or the defense switching to 3-4.

We better not still have a need at guard after this draft.
