Stupor Bowl Food and Drink

#1

Anyone going all out this year in the kitchen?  I'm not hosting this year and letting others do the food, but I will be bringing ingredients for my version of a jalapeño margarita.

- Cut one large jalapeño pepper length wise into 5 or 6 strips and drop into a bottle of decent to good silver/blanco tequila the night before. Remove seeds but not the ribs.

- have about 12-15 fresh limes on hand

- kosher salt to line glass rims

- A gallon of lemonade  (better than sour mix when using fresh lime)

- Cointreau

- one more jalapeño for garnish

 - seltzer for a hint of effervescence

2 oz  -  infused silver/blanco tequila

3/4 oz of cointreau

4 oz lemonade

juice of one lime

2 oz seltzer

shake and pour over ice and garnish with one jalapeño ring and a lime wedge

* if you like it hot - muddle one or two "rings" of jalapeño in the lime juice before adding other ingredients

I'll be at work so I'll be hitting it hard with a good cold glass of water.  I might even add ice.

I'll be at work, though I did make my homemade Chili Mac.  I'm sure my wife will have some vodka but probably not too much since she has to work tomorrow.  At least I can check in on the game at work from time to time.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

7 layer dip and chips. Burgers off the grill, and maybe a beer or two. Smile

Wifey is making swedish meatballs, taco bar and lil' smokies.

Trying to decide whether or not I want to get into some cocktails.  Probably have 2 or 3 big boys but wanna shut it down early as not to feel it in the morning.

Going to a friends house so I'm eating what they're serving. As for drink, I'll be having a post-game Yuengling or some whiskey at home so as to not offend my non-alcoholic drinking friends. Also, so I don't drink and drive. It's bad enough driving sober after dark on NC back roads. You never know when a deer is going to try to t-bone you so you gotta be alert.

I don't feel right.

Drinking wine watching a football game.

Maybe I shouldn't have admitted that.
