I'm wondering how they get their grades as it's something I at least take a look at with every prospect.

The top of the draft according to their grading system is not quite the same as your typical mock draft...

7.63 - Myles Garrett <--way above the rest

6.95 - Leanard Fournette <--wow

6.85 - Solomon Thomas <--really don't see him making it to #4

6.81 - Jonathan Allen <--firmly remains my first round projection for Jaguars

6.70 - Malik Hooker

6.60 - Jamal Adams

...and then you have a half dozen players that round to a 6.5

What are your thoughts about their rankings system, and do you have any players you like where you find their ranking rather impressive? I noticed, for instance, that NT Caleb Brantley has a 6.22 ranking and should be a mid-round two pick.

I'm surprised barnet at 6.2 isn't higher as from a pass rushing perspective on film he seems better than anyone else....

I have my doubts Jax drafts Allen at 4. I think the shoulder questions raise Boselli-esque questions that TC is more than familiar with. I hope we can get Thomas.

I think if we're faced with Allen vs Fournette, they'd go Fournette.

They are pretty good.

You can go back year over year and see them, comparing draft classes to draft classes as well.

It can suggest how strong/weak the class projects at the top.

I dont mind it, I never felt like it was grossly inaccurate or anything

The only thing on NFL.com i have a problem with are the player comparisons for top guys. A lot of times they just end up being too generous.

I really think the shoulder issues are way overblown, and that Allen would be a great pick.

As for Thomas, I just don't think he'll be there. That said, apparently not everyone ranks them so similarly. PFF has Jonathan Allen ranked #2, but they have Soloman Thomas ranked #28. Huh?

Trubiski at 6.5 is kind of surprising to me. I think he's head and shoulders better than Watson but 6.5 was unexpected.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

How could you think a kid that big and young having 2 shoulder surjuries and already showing signs of arthritis is anything more than damaged goods at this point?

I don't see how his injuries could be overblown. Young 300 pound men with shoulder problems in their early 20s don't last long. We all remember Boselli.

If we got another player of Boselli's caliber out this, I would be happy with that!

Dalvin Cook has already had 3 shoulder surgeries, any concerns there?

NFL.com probably do my favourite reports on players and are pretty fair on the weakness's they have.

The grades are fine, think they just show the different tiers of prospects for each position

I always take those as "playing style" comparison instead of "this guy will become #####".

For example, whenever I watched Mark Ingram play in college he always reminded me of Emmitt Smith. I did not think that he was going to produce like Smith but he played like him.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Jonathan himself is not concerned one bit...

Questions have been raised this week about whether Jonathan Allen’s shoulders were going to be an issue that affected his NFL career. On Saturday at the NFL Combine, the defensive lineman out of Alabama answered those questions by telling reporters, “Not at all, not at all.”



“My shoulder feels good,” Allen said. “Every doctor said if there is a problem it’s after football, way after football. I have no concerns at all.”



Allen said that he has arthritis in his left shoulder, but doctors did not place restrictions on any type of workouts he may do because of it.



“It might be a problem 15-20 years down the road,” Allen added. “This is probably the best I felt in the past four years.”

Yep and now he's playing with a drop foot brace for the rest of his career...impact TBD.
