I feel like this kid is being slept on. I see a lot of potential. It will be interesting to see what he posts at the combine. I see a lot of Von Miller in him. He is lean but has an explosive first step and bends the edge better than any player in this year's draft. He can run with tight ends and plays the run well at the linebacker position. Smooth athlete. I think he would be a great OTTO and addition to this defense. Depending on his combine numbers I would not mind drafting him at 5. He put a lot more pressure on the QB than his 4.5 sacks show and is extremely versatile.

I'm hoping his lack of bulk will cause teams to look the other way.
Can't agree with #5 even with a fantastic combine but I do like him and I agree he is slept on but let's keep it that way.

I said depending on the combine. The way I look at it, if he shows up at the combine at 6'3'' 245lbs (he has plenty of time to put on the weight and has the frame to hold it) with 33'' to 34'' arm, ran a 4.5 in the 40, has a 37''+ vert and 10'07'+ broad jump, and low 7.00 3-cone, I see no reason not to take him at 5. He would be a great prospect. The way Richt used him didn't play to his strengths as a pass rusher all the time. If he were used more like Miller at TAMU and had more help then maybe he has double digit sacks. All I know is I see a lot of Khalil Mack and Von Miller in this kid's game. All he has to do is add weight/strength, and I highly doubt that will be a problem looking at his frame, and continue to improve his ability to finish. He's only 20 years old. If he drops out of the top 10 some team will be very happy.
If he posts the numbers that I put above at the combine there is no way he's getting out of the top 5 imo. EDIT: Just saw that he's 23. Hmm, that's interesting. "A man with no sauce is lost.

He's not even in the same stratosphere as Khalil Mack.
Mack is about 30 lbs heavier and just as explosive. Mack was one of the better defensive prospects in a decade, and unfortunately there's nobody even close to him in this year's draft.

I didn't say he was Mack I said I see some Mack in his game.

If your determining to take a player higher based on the combine and especially just numbers not drills than you shouldn't take that player higher

The combine should only validate what you see on film.

Regardless how people on here feel about Walter Football they are a legitimate source. A lot of their info, especially concerning the draft, turns out to be right.

Seems like a project to me. His tape against Bama is telling....
Shock the world
Yes. All you have to do is look at their draft coverage from last year and most of their info on players and teams ended up being legit. I think the site gets pooed on here because of the opinion of the creator which does not mean they are an unreliable source of info? Do they probably get some things wrong here and there? Sure but most of it is legit.

<p style="text-align:center;">But that same man can get lost in the sauce." Quote:Check source.Walter is a complete joke, but Charlie Campbell is legit on that site. He is pretty keyed in and gives out a lot of good info. Measurements will be huge for Floyd at the combine. Problem is, he's long and very thin, just like Telvin Smith. I don't think he'd currently (without the measurements) fit anywhere in this scheme, besides at the Will. Which, we all know is already spoken for. If he was still there in the 3rd, complete steal for Will depth behind Telvin. To the OP, Von Miller was 246 at the combine. Floyd will be lucky if he comes in over 225 imo. His build is perfect for a WR. Thing is, he's not a WR. He'll get straight man handled as the OTTO. Who's job is to set the edge in the run game, first and foremost. He needs to add mass over time, not to try and add 30 pounds in 3 months. His frame/length is great, but he can't lose his speed and explosiveness by adding weight too fast. |
