Would you trade the #5 pick?

#1

One of our best players, Allen Robinson, was a late second rounder we got by trading up. We have too many holes on defense to give away picks, but missing out on an elite defensive player is not attractive. Do you think trading down from #5 to get extra picks is a good idea?

If Jalen Ramsey puts a kitten in a blender, sure.

Alexander is probably a reach at #5.

I wouldn't trade out of the top 10..I think theres a considerable drop in talent after that.

Agree.

The problem here is that most of the time teams only trade up for a QB. Ravens, Bucs, Giants, Dolphins don't need one. 49ers will probably stick with Kaep now that Chip is in.

The 49ers can draft a QB and still keep Colin Kaepernick on the roster. But are any QBs projected as top 5 picks?

The Rams are the only team I could see trading up for a QB and even then they could trade up to 7 or 8 and still get their man.

For the right price, I'd trade out of #5.  A team's mid-round first and their first next year would do, as an example.

No team will trade a future first rounder to the Jaguars IMO.

Do you have any teams in mind to trade with?

The team suffered mind-numbing losses and disappointment to earn the 5th pick...don't want to trade it away.  Take the best player and move on.

Buffalo gave up a future 1st Rounder to Cleveland in order to draft Sammy Watkins.   Until the landscape of the 2016 Draft is much more clear,   I have no idea what the demand for pick # 5 is going to be.

Who cares? If he is your guy, and you don't think you could still get him after trading down a few spots, you take him at 5.

Being that the Rams are going to LA and have a major need at QB,  it's easy to envision them trying to make a big splash at the position either this year or in 2017.    If the Chargers elect to exercise their 2016 option on joining the Rams in Inglewood,   the Rams would have the right based on their moving agreement to start selling luxury suites and PSLs in 2016.    This is something worth keeping an eye when trying to project draft possibilities.

I wouldn't trade back this year. We don't need a boat load of picks, we need a top 5 talent/play maker. Two years ago it would have made sense to trade back to acquire more picks, this year I love our position and hope it nets us Ramsey.

I would definitely trade down for more picks. We need defense and we need depth. It's not where you pick but who you pick. We've picked in the top 10 for a decade and we're still at the bottom of the league in wins.

In 2011 we had a top 10 pick because Gene Smith stupidly traded up for Blaine Gabbert. Our assigned pick number that year was 16.

JJ Watt would have been a reach at 5 too.
