Per Albert Greer Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict suspended three games. Here's the release ... https://t.co/RXF8VCg9Fn
Wow, three games is excessive. Odell Beckham missed only one game for the same penalty and two others, which the NFL said should have disqualified him. So why not just one game for Vontaze Burfict?
If Tom Brady can violate the integrity of the game and have his suspension overturned. Burfict should be able to lower his suspension to 1 or 2 games

3 games is WAY excessive.
What ever happened to, "If you don't want to get hit, don't go over the middle". I miss that so much.
Burfict is a repeat offender. He acted like an idiot the entire game. Before the game there were death threats exchanged.
For the record, Brady was originally suspended for 4 games. Beckham was a first time offender. Burfict is a straight thug.
"I'm not mad, I'm proud of you. You took your first pinch like a man and you learn two great things in your life. Look at me, never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut." - Jimmy Conway
Burfict has a history of trying to hurt people. 3 games is completely justified.
This is a guy who has been fined multiple times for twisting the ankles of other players after a tackle.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
Burfict belongs in the NFL of the 60's/70's. Back then guys like Butkus and Jack Lambert would flat out try to take guys' heads off,, knee people in scrums,, gouge eyes,, break bones,, etc...
Ronnie Lott and Steve Atwater hit people in the same sort of way too. But those are bygone, ancient eras. That stuff is an absolute "No-No" in this day and age. Burfict plays out of control. If he can't be "reeled in" by coaching, Cincy would be better off if he was suspended indefinitely or they let him go. Active as Burfict is during games, the Bengals still went 6-0 this year before he even played in a game. They really don't need him to still win. In fact,, it ended up costing them their biggest game of the season. 2015 Bengals: 6-0 without Burfict 5-6 with Burfict We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Of course Vontaze Burfict is appealing his suspension. Nothing surprising about that.

Good. I hope he spends more and more time at home as his career goes on. I genuinely believe that he plays the game for the opportunity to hurt other people, not because of a love of the game. There's no place for guys like him in the NFL.

So why not just one game for Vontaze Burfict? He'll probably get it reduced on appeal, to two games. It seemed to me like this suspension was not base on that single play, but that that play + everything else he'd been reprimanded for in 2015. I think that's fair. Great player, but deficient self control.

I don't recall him being accused of knocking his girlfriend/wife out cold, raping drunk houseguests, or shooting any of his friends in the head. His problem has been with aggression on the field (which is what fans tune in to watch, you cannot deny that,) not with being a societal problem off the field.

Quote:That's the problem the NFL faces. Most guys tackle to stop the ballcarrier and win. Burfict very clearly tackles to injure. It's a pretty broad line.
It will probably be appealed and over turned just look at Brady he never got suspended for cheating.
should really hold off these threads until after the appeal
Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17 2016 draft players I think will be good

Quote:It will probably be appealed and over turned just look at Brady he never got suspended for cheating. Well, he was railroaded so it's not surprising. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
1.) he slowed down.
2.) he lead with his shoulder 3.) he didnt leave his feet. The only person with their head in an unnatural position was brown. Its not just going across the middle its jumping trying to make highlight reel catches across the middle and making the guys paid millions of dollars to dislodge the ball responsible for your safety. This is crap.
Quote:It will probably be appealed and overturned just look at Brady he never got suspended for cheating. He did appeal it. I think the NFL should reduce the suspension to one game. At least Tom Brady was not trying to injure Colts players. |
