Gruden - Former Jags comment (MERGED)

#1

Gruden went out of his way to comment on MNF how many ex-Jags are out there having success.

This is a clear testament to how poor our entire coaching staff has been throughout the years.

Did you see that hit he laid on Owen Daniels last night that broke up a pass that was probably a game-winning TD? WOW, he really "laid the lumber" on him. When did he learn to play like that?

Yes, I saw it.

They gave up on him too quick here.

Yea Nelson had a few issues over playing things, but he was always a good player and was still young, but so many Jag fans hated the guy for what ever reason, we havent had a play maker at safety like that since he was traded

Brandon Marshall is the one that got away.

Nelson is nice but he is 33 so he wouldn't really be apart of the long term plans (same with Daryl Smith).

Would also be nice to have Jenings rotating with Yeldon... oh well.

Some people seem to think that if someone is not a pro bowler than they have no value.

Knighton resurrected his career when he left as well.

Not really. He was a decent player while here. He didn't suddenly play better.

He just got noticed because he played for the Broncos, whereas as a Jaguar nobody knows who you are nor cares.

His weight played a major issue which apparently our coaching staff couldn't keep under management.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

I don't remember ANY complaints when Nelson was shown the door.

Not really much about Jennings leaving either.

Marshall, Smith, and Knighton were the only ones I can remember fans truly were a little upset they were moved, or moved on from.

That being said.... Marshall excelled after being surrounded by Miller and Ware...

Knighton, now in Washington, hasn't really had any monster years. No better than Miller or Marks here I'd say.

Smith was an old man casualty of a new regime... it happens.

So Nelson is finally having a good couple years in his 30s and we made a mistake getting rid of him nearly 10 years ago lol

You kids....
