2016 Jaguars mock draft

Hey it is never too early. I am not sure about a WR in the 4th round. This draft doesn't address the Jags needs at Center or FS but they could address some of their needs in the Free Agent market We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I think Ramsey would address the FS spot. Shepherd is good so I don't mind him in the 4th. Overall, it's a draft I'd be happy with.
Interesting about drafting an RB in the later rounds, especially given our RB lack of depth this week.
Ramsey in the first corrects FS immediately. Could also play CB.
LOVE Allen in the 2nd. I don't think he's there, but we'll see. He has the ability to play inside and out. Him and Fowler together with Odrick and Miller would be a pretty decent run and pass Dline. After that it gets a little murky for me... on knowledge and flavor. I don't know much about the prospects, but if we're drafting LB, we need to be looking for Poz's replacement. I think after the 3rd we should be looking for depth, draft and develop guys on the Oline (C? T?) Dline (DT LEO) and S (even if we get Ramsey, the rest of the group could be upgraded or at least add in competition) I think the guy who does this draft doesn't know much about the Jaguars. Claiming a DB in the late rounds is our selection because we need more help in the secondary than anywhere on the defensive side of the ball. Dline is lacking in star players and depth. With another injury to Marks and the gaping hole at LEO behind a hopeful draft selection in Fowler....Dline is where we still need the most help. We show less advertisements to registered users. He would be a great pick but I don't know if he makes it to the middle of the 3rd round.
The WR, RB and CB are projected to go much higher than the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds. Kind of wishful thinking at this point, but who knows how it plays out come draft day.

Didn't know that... here's hoping we could get 3 starters on the D in the first 3 rounds... Would be nice. Allen Miller Marks Fowler Smith Matakevich Skuta House Ramsey Cyp Colvin With rotational guys on the Dline like Odrick and Davis Not to mention any free agents we may add....
Quote:nice. Didn't know that... I think a Hargreaves/Ramsey then Jonathan Allen draft would be ideal. Allen can rush the passer from the outside and inside and could be our Michael Bennett (well our other Michael Bennett). I would also move Odrik to the 3T for a bit and ease Marks back into the lineup. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Yea outside of WR in the 4th, solid mock draft
We are set at WR, unless Lequand Tredwell is there in the 4th no reason to pick a WR at all

Da'Shawn Hand from Alabama keep him in mind for 2017 NFL Draft and watch him closely in 2016 as I think the Jaguars might consider him for 1st round pick in 2017.
What if we drafted a CB and then traded back into round 1 and got a DE? Coupled with Marks and Fowler?

Let's mortgage away all our picks like in 2008 because that worked so well.

Tabor is a sophomore, unless you are advocating taking Brian Poole in the 1st. Good teams do not consistently use 1st and 2nd round picks to get competent Offensive Linemen. They find them in later rounds or free agency. Just look at who the Jags have drafted/gotten as later picks for O-Line: Cann, Linder, Bowanko, Shatley. All are capable O-Linemen in the league. We have a good Offensive Line coach too. If he stays, just sign a good center and draft OL later in the draft then let the competition help the best rise to the top. Also realize that if we keep Olsen as well, the protection & run blocking schemes will stay the same for Line and Bortles for the first time. Blocking is all about doing your job, communicating, and knowing/trusting the other lineman to take the right person so that you work as a unit. That only comes with consistency in scheme and time working together. Quote:Good teams do not consistently use 1st and 2nd round picks to get competent Offensive Linemen. They find them in later rounds or free agency. Also it seems OT's have become riskier than QB's in the lst round. Drafting a tackle used to be one of the safest draft picks but now that does not seem to be true. Now teams seem to use QB's that can scramble to make up for a mediocre OLine. I think the first 2 or 3 picks need to be D Quote:Good teams do not consistently use 1st and 2nd round picks to get competent Offensive Linemen. They find them in later rounds or free agency.I do believe that All-Pro offensive line the Cowboys had last year were a lot of first round picks...... I mean.. you get the most talent early, most often. Not to say there aren't competent linemen in every round. But plug and play guys usually aren't late rounders. Late rounders are guys that need to add bulk, work on this or that. Not saying I want to see an OL guy drafted early this year... but if we were drafting in the mid teens, I wouldn't be mad at some OL guys at OT and C. LG and RG are locked down for at least a few good years I would think. |
