A Scouting Report of sorts on the Falcons

This isn't Charleston State we're playing, it's the Atlanta Falcons, and in spite of their recent troubles, they are still an NFL team with 53 professional football players. In 2 of the last 3 games played, the Jags have lost to the worst teams record-wise in the NFL (Chargers and Titans). I understand that last week's second half of the Colts game created a nice win. However, I would not count on the upcoming Falcons game in being a blow-out win for the Jags.
My initial thought on the Falcons is that Matt Ryan can carve us up if given the time to find his 2nd and 3rd receivers. Other teams, those with a decent pass rush, have disguised their pass coverage until just before the snap so that Ryan predetermines where he's going to throw, causing him to make bad throws/ interceptions. My concern is that we don't disguise the coverage and we don't put a pass rush on, thereby giving Ryan time to locate and connect with the alternate receivers.

Keep in mind that the Falcons defense also uses the same concepts that our defense uses based out of the Seahawks model. There should be a lot of familiarity there, which means it likely will be players more than scheme that will win this game.

I recall very few blitzes, and never any double a blitzes. I thought Julio was doubled once on a deep pass, but that's about it. I think part of what bothered me is on all those crossing routes he ran, nobody tried knocking him off his route. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
The Falcons ran on the Jaguars with ease and the Jaguars Defense is supposed to be primarily about stopping the run, which does make you wonder why the Falcons dont run more in games for success?

I thought the defense was pretty stout against the run. The main problem- big surprise- was rushing 4 and playing soft zone D. Matt Ryan had time to make a turkey sandwich back there and pick a wide open WR running through the ice cream zone.
