Actually a pretty decent read. He does have a point. As last year, "on paper" it's looking good. But I was greatly fooled last year too. I was all in on the belief it was a playoff team. I love this team because it's almost like my daddy was still here with me to watch the games. But I won't get all giddy with excitement until I start seeing the W's.

Screw what uncle Pirkster says, Tom is back baby! While I have to see Bortles get replaced before I get too excited, I just know Coughlin will get it done. It's hard to get riled up after last year, 1000% agreed, but because of Tom, this go around feels different for me. Not sure about playoffs, but this is a 7-9 team at the worst right now. It's gonna be a much better year, brotha.

You see what QB Tom stuck with for years in NY? Why would you think he'd get rid of bortles?
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

That's the same question i was wondering but i guess he's wishful thinking and have no hope that Blake can bounce back from his bad year.

To each his own man. I dont think Bortles is a Jag next year, and I think Tom is thinking about QB as we speak. I don't see the correlation between Manning and Bortles anyway. One has won 2 Superbowls, and one has led the league in sacks taken and turnovers and wobbly passes over 3 years. Eli struggled early, and would've been replaced but not for a 2007 Superbowl win that had much more to do with the D than Eli.

If Bortles continues to be one of the worst 5 starting QBs and yet wins a Superbowl on the back of Tom Coughlins defense, then we can have an actual Eli/Bortles comparison that makes any sense. Until then, it's a stupid comment to be honest. The 2 aren't related at all.

I'm using the past to project future expectations. You're using blind faith based on one season of garbage time stats.

I think I'll stick to my method. When Bortles proves me wrong, I'll be the first to admit it and cheer the guy on.

I don't normally paint myself in a corner like this, but I'm firmly anti-Bortles at this point.

I'm thinking we should replace Sen'Derrick by getting Jonathan Allen round one.

The truth is that The Grand Bobblehead is gone, as is his Culture of Mediocrity. The new administration is serious and nonsense free.

This. But I think you meant Wash. IMO Wash is the weakest link in this defense.

If Hackett improves the defensive play calling I'll eat my hat.

It is a good read.  Does the addition of Church, Bouye, and Campbell truly highly impact the article's mentioned defensive turnover gap?  I think these guys, each of them, are upgrades.  But, I am not sold yet that they are elite enough to significantly alter this gap.  I hope I am wrong.

I think the gap will be impacted more favorably with the continued growth in Ngakoue, Fowler, and Ramsey, along with Jackson's comfort in the defense and collapsing the pocket.

The biggest issue with the defense last year was the offense.

No you won't you will hide behind your computer just like every other person who made these stupid predictions and it don't work out. Just because his Stats didnt translate to wins that doesn't mean it was garbage because this is a team sports. Sone of his mistakes was in garbage time too if you want to add that to the equation but no people like you like to pick and choose to make your argument on the situation. It's pathetic when people like you and others hoping he fail in order to have change for change's sake.
