What needs to happen for playoffs?

#1

We're going to need help if we run the table.

I hope the Cards rest players.

Saints' defense isn't good.

Atlanta is aweful.

Looks like we're peaking at the right time.

Houston and Colts need to lose a division game

Nothing. We won't make it.

Cardinals have nothing to do with us making the playoffs.  They face only NFC Teams from here on out.  (Eagles, Packers, Seahawks)

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Correct me if I'm wrong but..

If Houston loses to pats tonight, beats the clots next week, then we beat the texans in our last game we have a three way tie? Or would Texans have best division record?

Edit: nevermind.. We need the titans to win against Texans and clots.. Or clots to beat texans and lose to Dolphins and titans...

Either way we need Titans to come up big for us to have a chance. That lose to them last week was a killer...

I think we are officially out of the running for a wildcard.

As far as the division, we have to win it outright at 8-8.  We cant win a tiebreaker.  And since the Texans and Colts have one more game against each other, one of them will get to at least 7 wins.  So the winner of that game has to lose their remaining games.  Ideally Houston wins that game because one of their remaining games is against us.  So one less game that would be out of our control.

We need the Colts to win next week, or the tacks to win the next week.

Not going to happen.  Texans have it just about wrapped up, but I'd still love to deliver them a loss in the last week.

Houston have NE, Indy, Ten and Jax to play.

Depends which Titans show up really.

We need the tacks to upset both Houston and Indy. We would need to win out, and essentially Indy and Houston can only win one more game after they face each other.

We have a chance. We're still in this thing.

With Hasselbeck and Watt being hurt, we have a chance of them falling off at the end of the season.

Yea the Titans will need to help us out at least once.  Basically we win out to go 8-8 and then we need any scenario where Indy and Houston both finish with 7 or fewer wins.  I dont really care how they get to 7 or fewer.  Again they play each other so one of them is guaranteed 7.  The winner of that game has to go 0-2 in their remaining games. The loser can go 1-1.  And this is assuming the Texans lose tonight to the Patriots.

If they win tonight, we would need them to lose there last 3(which means a loss to Indy), we would need Indy to go 1-2 (a win against Houston and losing the other 2), and then again we would need to win out.

We would still need the colts to lose one more in that scenario.. They would have the division tiebreaker.. They would have to lose to the titans.

Glass half full view:

At least we finally made it to the point where we aren't getting blown out and these games basically came down to one play.

Our future is looking very fruitful.

Here's one scenario.

We win out, finish 8-8.
tinhorns go 1-3, beating only the clots in week 15, finish 7-9.
clots go 1-2, beating either Miami in week 16 or Tennessee in week 17, finish 7-9.

BTW, that would make the tinhorns game in week 17 the divisional decider.

Colts and Texans need to keep losing, Jags need to keep winning.  Take it a week at a time.  The chances are slim.  Enjoy the last 3 games and the long offseason; things are looking up for the Jags.
