All Offensive Draft

#1

With the signings of Campbell, Church and Bouye I would be shocked if the Jaguars did not go offense with their 1st 4 picks. Defense was already their strength and I expect Fowler and Jack to be different players this year after one season in the league. That being said, the draft should look something like this:

Rd. 1 : Leonard Fournette - No brainer, now, unless they get great trade offer.

Rd. 2: Forest Lamp, Dan Feeney or Cam Robinson- Coughlin and Caldwell must have decided these guys would be much better value than Zeitler.

Rd. 3  Taylor Moton- Competition for Parnell and can play guard as well.

Rd. 4: Adam Shaheen/Jeremy Sprinkle- Excellent value in deep tight end class.

Rd. 5-7 BAP for depth and special teams.

Obviously, the organization is going with Bortles this year and with the improved line and Fournette this is it for him. If he implodes again, at least the defense will keep them in games and they will draft a q.b. next season.

Still, we'd be talking about starting a rookie in Coughlin's second year.  If the defense keeps them in games they may not be able to get a guy.   I think they need a guy 2-5th round this draft to hopefully sit on the bench, which I think is what they'll do.  I don't know what they think they have with Branden Allen.

It's pretty much down to Watson Trubisky or Fournette

Still need pass rush

Cousins is asking to be traded. I dont think he is worth a high 1st round, but maybe some sort of swap.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

I still take Solomon Thomas at 4. Campbell is over 30, Ngakoue shows promise but isn't an every down guy, and who knows about Fowler. You don't pass up premiere pass rushers. TC won 2 Super Bowls with a 4 man rush. I'm telling you guys, do not count out Thomas at #4. I'd take him over Fournette/Cook in a heartbeat. Especially with the RB depth in this draft.
BORTLES ISN'T A FRANCHISE QB. FOURNETTE WILL BE A BUST.

Doubt the Redskins would want B.B. But I'd make this offer also.

OFFENSEOFFENSEOFFENSEOFFENSE!!!!!

rd1 - RB Dalvin Cook    (yeah, I know, but Fournette was gone and I like him so shut it)

rd2 - OG Dion Dawkins   (You're welcome, Jags02) Instant starter at guard

rd3 - TE Adam Shaheen  - Instant redzone contributor - will learn to block from #89

rd4 - QB Davis Webb   -  My favorite "break glass in case of BB5 meltdown" option

rd5 - DE Tanoh Kpassagnon   - Intriguing project strong end to groom behind Campbell

rd6 - RB  Elijah McGuire   -P.S. RB w/ good hands that could also play ST right away - could also go with a OT project here instead

rd7 - K   Jake Elliot    -  no more missed PATs

rd7 (from Miami if that goes thru) -  FB - Freddie Stevenson  -  #becauseoffense

If it had to be an all offensive draft, I'd say...

  • 1.4 - RB Leonard Fournette

  • 2.35 - LG Dion Dawkins

  • 3.68 - TE Bucky Hodges

  • 4.110 - QB Davis Webb

  • 5.148 - RT Will Holden

  • 6.187 -  G Nico Siragusa

  • 7.222 - FB Freddy Stevenson

Awesome that I came up with the same QB and round as you.

And do you plan to convert Kpassagnon to the offense?

Same guard, QB and the ubiquitous FB.

I think Kpassagnon is a major project but could be an interesting strong-side DE in a couple years if he strengthens his lower body and develops better balance.  Having a mentor like Campbell couldn't hurt.

For my extra 7th round pick I wonder if TE George Kittle might actually still be there.

We spend big in FA as usual and on the defensive side of the ball. I love the Bouye pick up, I love Colvin in slot coverage, not saying we have the best CB tandems because we are far from it. We are solid and upgraded the D-line with Cambell. We now have successful leadership on defense too. How many defensive players did we draft last year? How many offensive players did we draft 3 years ago when we selected Bortles? There is a little trend I think. We need O-line help bad but I really don't think there is one worth the 4th pick. Lamp is great, Robinson has off field issues and my favorite Ramcyzk has a first round grade but I don't see either slipping to the 2nd round. Regardless I think we go offense at 4. We either get a stud RB or a QB.......Unless Garrett falls I really believe we go offense. I'm not a Mitchell fan, he has only started 13 games at UNC. I don't see how you can rank him above Watson you makes great throws. Broke a National Championship record against an Alabama defense that features how many projected first rounders in this draft......I know he scored this stupid 49 velocity crap but still "if" you go by that stat your saying Blaine Gabbert, Geno Smith, Sanchez and ect. are better college QBs then Watson? Hmmm I wonder what Peyton Mannings velocity was at when he headed to Denver? Watson, Fournette or a trade back and get Lamp or Ramcyzk is looking like what it COULD be!

Yes we need a play maker game breaker on offense. Have to score points and take an early lead to take some pressure off of the defense.

We also need a blocker or two for that play maker
