Week 14 Games Of The Week, Championship Saturday

Still quite a bit to be worked out for the four team playoff and this weekend will shake things out. Should be very interesting.

MAC Title game

Bowling Green vs Northern Illinois - 8:00 pm, Ford Field

Not a bad Friday night game to kick things off. Nothing like championship football games.

Saturday, December 5th, 2015

AAC Title Game

#25 Temple vs. Houston - 12:00 pm, TDECU Stadium

Championship Saturday kicks off early with an AAC title matchup. Houston is a really good squad. Their QB is the real deal, a real difference maker. Had he not missed the UConn game, they are undefeated.

SEC Title Game

#12 Florida vs. #2 Alabama - 4:00 pm, Georgia Dome

Alabama comes in playing well, and gets a Florida team limping in offensively. I am not sure how many points someone would have to give me to take my Gators.

USC vs. #9 Stanford - 7:45 pm, Levi's Stadium

The title game that intrigues me the least for whatever reason.

Big 10 Title Game

#5 Michigan St. vs. #4 Iowa - 8:00 pm, Lucas Oil Stadium

This looks to be a good matchup against two hard nosed style teams. Both are playing what equates to a play in game. Should be a  lot of fun.

ACC Title Game

#14 North Carolina vs. #1 Clemson, 8:00 pm, Bank of America Stadium

Not sure what Clemson team shows up. They have what it takes to win, but they're playing a NC team who has found something on offense. I may lean slightly to NC here in what most would call an upset.

The BTCG will be a play-in game barring upsets in other games. Iowa is already in the top four and MSU is on the outside looking in. Because MSU was the team that kept my Buckeyes out of it, I will root for Iowa this week.

A close win by Alabama would be almost as shocking as a loss. It will be very hard to watch the Gators.

How good is North Carolina? The way Clemson has been scratching and biting everyone this season, I don't see how those Tigers can lose in Charlotte. The Tar Heels need to declaw them.

In the Pacific 12, Stanford should not have any issues. This is the first time I ever heard of a team playing for the division or conference championship the same year they fired their head coach.

Well I did say offensively they're limping in. That might to much credit for the offense though, you're right. Defensively, they're playing really well, and that is without their best pass rusher.

If I were UF, I'd throw the playbook away and dedicate 100% of the play scheming to the Wildcat offense this week.  I've come to the conclusion that Treon isn't good throwing the ball beyond the line of scrimmage.

USC beating Stanford would surprise me.

Championship Saturday is finally here! I don't like Florida's chances, but am hoping the Gators at least avoid a blowout. After that I want to see an upset in Charlotte. If that game gets out of paw I will switch to the BTCG.

Go Gators, Tar Heels, and Hawkeyes!

Bama-Florida...  If Grier was playing, I'd think this was a 50/50 matchup.  Obviously McElwain and Saban are very familiar with each other.  I'm sure McElwain knows how to attack the Bama defense.  it wouldnt surprise me if he had a few wrinkles in store for this.  But I just dont think the Gators can score enough.  Harris stinks.

Iowa-Mich St - no idea what to think.  The only outcome that would surprise me if it was a huge blowout in either direction.

Who gets in....

The obvious four:

- Oklahoma is obviously in.

- Winner of Iowa-Mich St is in... loser is out.

- If Bama wins, they are in, if they lose they are out.

- If Clemson wins, they are in... and Im not sure they are necessarily out with a loss.  If Bama/Stanford also lose, I think two ACC teams are in.

Teams that need help:

- Ohio St... I think they need a Bama loss, a Stanford loss, and a Clemson win... I'm not convinced they get in over a conference champion Stanford even though the Cardinal have the 2 losses.  And I absolutely dont see any circumstance where they as a 1 loss non-conference champion should give in over Clemson if they become a 1 loss non-conference champion.  Ohio St's resume really isnt that great.  One really good win over Michigan.  But an ugly loss at home to Mich St's backup QB.  Very few top 25 wins.

- North Carolina - I could argue that a win over Clemson should be enough.  Couple that with a Bama loss and they may be a lock.  But assuming Bama wins, lets say NC wins a really ugly squeaker, while Stanford hammers USC... I could see Stanford getting the nod over them.  Carolina didnt play anyone while Stanford's schedule and losses are better.  But it would really depend on how both teams look.

- Stanford -  If they win big and Bama loses, I think they're in.  Not sure a 1 loss Ohio St gets in over them.  And would the committee put in two ACC teams over them?  Let say Bama wins and Clemson loses, would the committee put Stanford in ahead of the ACC?  As said above if UNC wins an ugly squeaker but Stanford looks great, then maybe.

Iowa is leading 6-3 at halftime. I read at the bottom of my screen the teams "traded turnovers" in the first quarter.

Took me as long to Google the answer as it did for you to type your question here.
