Gus Bradley is supposed to be a defensive coach and we have a #25-30 ranked defense EVERY YEAR. Bortles is the best player on the team; anyone blaming him doesn't know football. He gives us a CHANCE to win every game but our defense gives up 28 POINTS PER GAME. The Vikings are in the playoffs and gave up 10 points and 17 ppg for the season.


Defense is the reason the Jags suck. The offense is pretty good. Gus Bradley is a joke and any real owner would have fired him by now. Jerry Jones, Kraft, etc wouldn't put up with a defensive coach who gives up 28 PPG. Khan doesn't know how to win.

Vikings have a great o line, a great RB, and a great D. I'm laughing at the people blaming the Jags best player Bortles. Jags defense gives up 25-33 points per game EVERY game. Gus is a terrible coach. Frazier fixed the Vikings why can't Gus?

Seriously...so many people kill Bortles, and yeah I know he throws INTs, but he isn't our problem. Looking unprepared and out coached every week is.

The d-line can't rush the passer at all. Been the same all year and has lost us a bunch of games. People can blame Bortles all they like but have you seen how long these guys get in the pocket? Teams like San Diego and Indy don't have good o-lines yet we're making them look good. Every week the announcers say how much the other teams o-line has improved over the previous week when in reality it's because our pass rush sucks.

Every single TD they had today...someone was WIDE open in the endzone. Inexcusable.

From where I sat in the SEZ it was this......they went to the red zone and scored touchdowns by good passes to wide open tight end.

We got in the end zone and looked like a bunch of noobs and settled for field goals.

 

We had absolutely no pass rush.....none.....just let rivers carve us up. Held them to three and outs a few times, but they got better as we got worse.

Teddy, Peyton Manning, and Eli can throw INTs because their defense can STOP people. Ours can't. Bortles must throw the ball 40 times a game and can't throw 1 INT, he must be perfect just to have a CHANCE to win with Gus Bradley's pathetic excuse for a defense.

Bortles gives the opponents a TD due to a pick-6 or INT very deep in his own territory in almost every game. Almost every game. That increases PPG by a TD. That is not in the defense.


Yes,, the defense needs to improve. But, they are hardly the SOLE REASON this team loses games. The offense stalling/settling for FGs,, and Bortles giving the opponents basically a TD very game do not help either.

The defense sucks because we haven't invested much (in terms of draft picks) in it, especially in the higher rounds, the plan was to build the offense first. You want to know why the Vikes defense is good? Xavier Rhodes (1st round pick), Sharif Floyd (1st round pick), Anthony Barr (1st round pick), (Trey Waynes (1st round pick), Harrison Smith (1st round pick), I'm not a huge Gus fan but it's obvious he doesn't have the pieces to make this scheme work, this scheme requires two things, speed in the middle of the defense (FS & MLB) and a pass rush that can consistently effect opposing QB's. We're incredibly weak in both these areas, so it shouldn't be a surprise when elite QB's like Philip Rivers pick it apart.

It's the coaching. Ej Manuel picked us apart. Jameis Winston picked us apart. Matt Hassellback picked us apart. Gus can't stop ANYONE. He sucks.

However, I also see that he has crippling INTs that turn into opponent TDs on a very frequent basis. These points have nothing to do with points given away by the defense. Nothing.


This team's problems are not just the defense. Any fan with common sense sees it,, because it is completely untrue. Bortles makes bad mistakes at times that hurt this team's chance at a victory also.


The defense and special teams played terrific last week that won the game. Bortles threw a terrible 4th qtr INT. Thankfully, Bortles got the ball at the 5yd line because: 1. Defense stopped Tenn after his INT 2. Greene ran it to the 5 3. Defense forced/recovered a fumble after the 5 yard TD.


This team struggles on both sides of the ball. Idk why you can't see that?

Because it's VERY ignorant for fans to complain when:


1) we have the best QB and QB season in Jags history


And


2) we have the WORST defense in PPG allowed in Jags history



Jags fans are blaming Bortles.....it's hilarious. If Jags didn't have Bortles and Henne inherited a 27 ppg defense, the Jags would be.....(0-11)
