Miami agrees to a home and home with Appalachian State

Just heard on 1010. Wow. What a third rate program. Play at FAU this year, and at Appalachian State next year.
It's not even fun making fun of them now. Now it's just sad. http://www.stateoftheu.com/2015/11/24/97...hian-state We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
A team like Miami should never go to App St to play.....but with that said, I've been to App St to watch a game there, and its a pretty cool stadium for a game.
It's strange. Looking at their future opponents the next few years, they also have games at Arkansas State and Toledo. Not sure what the benefit is here.

Quote:It's strange. Looking at their future opponents the next few years, they also have games at Arkansas State and Toledo. Not sure what the benefit is here. It may just mean they are struggling to get opponents and would rather do home and homes than pay a team to come and play them. A team like FSU/UF will pay someone to come play because they will still make money on the gate/concession and all the other stuff that comes with it. If you look at Miami's stands for a game, its pretty clear to see they aren't. Quote:WHY? I just cant see the benefit of doing a home and home.Miami very well may lose money with their home games at this point. Maybe make a little money. Just a guess. It may be worth their while to secure two wins over the course of two seasons (their thinking anyway).

This isnt surprising. It costs money to get these lower level teams to come play you. And Miami probably doesnt make much money on home games. Frankly I bet they lose money every time they have to dish out $750k to some small school to come play down there. This seems like an easy way to save money.

FSU played Chatanooga last week.. that's just as bad.
I ain't no monkey... I'm an ape.

This is about a home and home deal. If you think FSU playing Chattanooga is the same as this deal then you don't have a clue. FSU would never play at Chattanooga. Neither would any serious team. This is a complete embarrassment.
Quote:FSU played Chatanooga last week.. that's just as bad. At home. Miami is a home and home with Appalachian State. Playing them on the road is nowhere near the same.
Quote:Playing Chatt is worse then playing 1A App. No question. Not that either are powers, but still. One's at home. One's on the road.
maybe they are expecting sanctions
Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17 2016 draft players I think will be good

Didn't Michigan St start the year on the road at one of the directional Michigan schools? I realize this is a "hey let's laugh at the U thread" but scheduling a home and home with a lower level d1 team isn't unheard of.
