I think we should draft Trubisky at 3
|
I think the team will not be in position to draft a blue chip QB prospect again for quite a while, as i think we'll be around .500 next year.
While I'm a firm disbeliever in Blake's ability to turn things around, I'm in favor of picking up his 5th year option and letting Trubisky groom for a year. Who knows, maybe Blake rebounds and we have a tradeable guy at QB. I think the team should spend heavy on the oline, look to get a RB in the 2nd round, and draft the guy who I think has the best shot at becoming a franchise QB in this years draft, and we can finally groom him unlike Blake or Blaine. And his name doesn't begin with B, which is unfortunate considering Mitchell with a B would provide much hilarity indeed. Ok, let me have it. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:We draft at #4. Apologies, I'm on my phone and my fingers are literally the size of Jimmy Dean breakfast snausages. It's a daily struggle. I think I'll start a gofundme.
I think we'd do it because QB is our biggest problem in my eyes. And oline. Then pass rush.
I'm not necessarily 1000 percent sure on Trubisky, but he's the guy I like the most. Either way, I'd like to see Tom shock the Jag world and go QB at 4. Then pass rush.Draft Thomas this year. If Blake struggles, then you do whatever it takes to get Darnold or Rosen next year. Teams will be tanking for Darnold next year. These QBs this year are not that good. Trubisky has only started 13 games. Are you really going to draft him at 4? Don't think so.
Quote:Draft Thomas this year. I'm on board, I just prefer the bird in the hand this year if the staff thinks a guy from this draft could be a franchise QB. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Blake's play in 2016 cost us some wins. It was really bad.
However, the new regime seems pretty intent on giving him another chance and bolstering the play around him. (o-line/run-game) For that reason it's hard to imagine a QB taken before the 4th or 5th round in my eyes. If they take one at all. If it were me, I'd take a "best of the rest" guy like Webb or Peterman in the fourth as a "plan B" guy in case Bortles' mechanics fall off a cliff again. Those guys both have the potential to develop well, and could be ready to step in by mid-season for a struggling #5 (if they beat out Brandon Allen for the opportunity of course.)
If we go QB at #4, Caldwell might as well deliver his resignation at the same time.
Have you seen my baseball?
Quote:Draft Thomas this year. Right. If Blake doesn't pan out, the team will need to get a QB. If we have to wind up trading up to get who we want, so be it. A franchise QB is worth it, just need to be good enough and lucky enough to hit on one. I'm still hoping bortles goes back to 2015 form. If so, this will all be moot.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

This years crop of qbs are hot garbage. Give Blake one more year and if it doesn't pan out at least next years heard of qbs are all way better than this years
Quote:For these QBs? No way.Have to agree with this. I get not wanting a RB at 4, but it's better than taking one of these QBs by far.
Trubisky isn't even good. He started 13 games. That's it.
If the QBs this year were actually good, there is no way Cleveland, SF or Chicago would pass on them. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Exactly.Easily. Mixon and Cook also IMO.
Expect the 2017 Jags to win enough to miss out on the better QB prospects next year. #becausejaguars
