With the Lions having the # 1 claim spot in the waiver process,  it wouldn't surprise me if Dri Archer was claimed on waivers as Sheldon White's first personnel decision as the team's Interim G.M.   Archer was one of the players who had a Pre-Draft visit with the team in 2014.    When you are trying to make an impression on your boss  ( Martha Ford ) in the hopes of beating the odds to remain as the team's G.M in 2016,  a player like Archer is worth rolling the dice on.   

 

If Archer gets to the Jags waiver claim spot,  his versatility could easily be enough for Dave Caldwell to claim him.
