Vegas Odds Jacksonville @ NY Jets

#1

This week is kind of interesting.  The Jets are the home team and have their #1 and #2 QB's both nursing some injuries.  They also are coming off of a tough loss against Oakland.

Vegas this week has the Jets -2.5 and the Over/Under at 40.

What this means is it's yet another "pick 'em" game since the home team is usually spotted 3 points.  So a bet placed on the Jaguars means that they either win, or lose by no more than a safety.

Prior to this past weekend I had mixed feelings about this game, but as of right now I would select the Jaguars and take the over.

I need to change this and select the Jets and the over.

Their 3rd string QB will be a pro bowl candidate afterwards.

Haha. Yes, unfortunately, that is the norm for our beloved Jags.

I'll take the Jets to cover and the over. I don't see us slowing down Chris Ivory and we've shown that it doesn't matter who is playing QB, they're still gonna get yards. I don't see our offense doing much of anything against that defense.

The same defense Oakland just rolled 500 yards on?

Oakland is a better team than Jacksonville.

Wanna bet on whether or not the Jags repeat that performance? I doubt it.

They lost an emotional game and had to fly 3200-ish miles to play a more talented than advertised Raiders team. I think we can beat the Jets, but that defensive line and secondary are scary good, especially at home.

With the Irish Rifle out, Jags win 24-20.

I'm showing the Jags a 6 point dogs shifting slightly from 7 points on Monday:

I notice on this link the majority of casinos have taken the game off the boards most likely due to the Jets QB situation. The few that do have them on have us as 2.5 dogs with one listing us a 6.

Would you rather have Carr Mack and Cooper or Bortles ARob and Fowler.

Not denying Oakland is better right now, but that D is showing cracks.

However, you don't need 500. Oakland averages 40 more yards and .1 more first downs per game, hardly a domination.

How much more good fortune can the Jags get 4 games in a row?  It is like a gift from the NFL gods.  NFL gods: "Can't beat a 40 year old QB... okay, we will give you the most turnover QB going, plus he is a rookie... hmmm you say you didn't win, alright we are going to throw in a guy who couldn't keep his starting job during the season to a guy we are about to release soon... wow, really, you still lost, well damn, I've got to do something really favorable, I'm going to knock out the starting and back up QB of the next team you face..."

If the Jaguars Defensive backs can play better in this game, and the LBs play like they did against the Bills.  As long as the Offense doesnt turn the ball over I expect the Jaguars to win this game!

The stars do seem to be lining up well. Steve Smith Sr. and Keenan Allen were hurt when they played each other, and we fact both teams in the near future, and now Mularkey is the Titans interim HC. If he's anything like the HC he was when he was here, we should be able to sweep the Titans.

Does anyone know the status on Fitz or Geno? Or is it still completely up in the air ? Last time I checked they were both questionable.

It sounds like Fitz will need to get surgery at some point, and one would think that has to happen before he plays. I'm doubting he'll play. Geno sounds like he's roughed up a bit but can probably play. I'm guessing he will, and he's likely to be a bit more productive with a week of practice as the starter.... or at least getting some starting reps.
