Steve Smith Sr, torn achilles tendon

What a terrible way to end your career.

So sad for him. He was a great player for sure. I was hoping he would do well this season and go out on top but that is now just a dream. Best of luck to him.

on a side note: this could be a very good thing for the Jags.

Hope he comes back next season. He's an [BLEEP], but I like the players who play with a chip on their shoulder. He's been one of the best receivers of the last 10 years.

Really sad if he ends his career this way. Then again, this is probably how the majority of player's careers end. Not walking away in style, but being carried off by the Training Staff.

He said this was going to be his last season playing.

He was really playing well. He even looked really good playing with a hurt back and cracked ribs. That guy was tough.

Tough to end your swan song like that.

Rumors have been going around about him possibly coming back already next year. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave it one more go, I doubt Steve Smith ends his career this way.

Unfortunately for the Jaguars, Steve Smith is not the only Raven who can catch footballs on a regular basis. We still have to worry about the next man up.

Looks as if you may be correct. CBSSports.com is reporting that Smith plans on coming back next year. There are no direct quotes from Smith, but the rumors are flying about.
