Be honest: Anyone regretting not taking Gurley?

#1

I am. Don't get me wrong I like Yeldon but Gurley is the next great running back and if he stays healthy will probably end up in first ballot HOF discussion. We should have never passed on him just because his knee was injured especially considering he only sat out 3 games. It's only more salt added that Fowler, who was supposed to be an immediate impact player and why they drafted him over Gurley, ends up out the whole season. I know what's done is done but I honestly believe had we had Gurley with Bortles and the Allens we would have won at least 2 more games this year even with this terrible coaching staff.

I wanted Caldwell to draft Amari Cooper or Gurlely.  Instead we drafted him.

Amari would've been dumb looking at our WR. We desperately need a pass rusher. Gurley you could argue but it's pretty risky at 3rd overall considering he was still recovering from his ACL injury and you don't know for certain how he would respond. There wasn't that many good LEO pass rushers available for our second pick so we couldn't really wait around for one. I have no problem with the decision. Yeldon is looking like the second best back from the draft and fowler is probably going to be the pass rusher of the future for us.

Gurley is beastin' but im totally content with TJ.  I'm excited about Dante's return as well because it's much needed.  To be fair though, how many backs were suppose to be better than TJ and worse than Gurley?  Hindsight is nice but TJ makes me happy enough DC drafted how he drafted in the 1st 2 rounds

It has been 3 games. Sure it has been 3 great games, but still ONLY 3 games. You cannot decide this until the end of next season at least to see what Fowler and Yeldon do.

Call me after Fowler plays s half dozen games and I'll have an opinion on this.

Right now... No.

Hell no. I'm sorry, but he plays a position that is not overly important in todays NFL. If they had taken Gurley, it would have told me Caldwell was an idiot.

I don't agree with this. The position is not "overly important" because teams are compensating for the lack of true elite running backs. Running backs like Gurley are still a game changer in this league and he is showing it. If you have a back that can go off for 120 yards every game on his own regardless of what's around him he makes the entire offense better. If we had Gurley paired with Bortles and these receivers we'd be averaging 25+ppg.

Well if Fowler is as good as we think he can be, would you rather have Gurley and Gregory or Fowler and Yeldon?

The Rams would trade Gurley in an instant for a top pass rusher, d-tackle, tackle, receiver, free safety, corner, tight end or linebacker. He's a nice option if you have all the pieces.

No, if Fowler comes back 100% he will be an all pro DE

No they wouldnt, they have pass rushers.  Gurley is exactly what they needed with that defense and the way the oline is built

I'd rather have Gurley and Kikaha.

watch, you called Bortles a bust 4 weeks into the season and now all of a sudden he is the Jags future great QB.  You will be doing the same 180 with Fowler next year

You can find an above average to very good RB in the second round but you got to get that special pass rusher from the top of the first round. Otherwise you get Derrick Harvey, Andre Branch, Groves....etc.

No. Not at 3, maybe if we would have traded down then yes. However even with DFJ hurt I still think he was a solid pick at 3. I wasnt one of the big draft cooper guys, I just wish our player was on the field, less of these threads would happen if he was able to play. Dont get me wrong people will always make threads about what ifs but still.
