Hayes Pullard, LB, Cleveland PS via USC signed

Per Michael DiRocco's Twitter:
Apologies, but I can't seem to embed the tweet. Here is Pullard's Scouting Report via NFL.com. <p style="margin-left:40px;">"...Bottom Line <p style="margin-left:40px;">Athletic linebacker who falls into a habit of letting plays come to him rather than making things happen. While lacking an aggressive strike as a tackler, Pullard has the athleticism to be a solid NFL player. He has to find a scheme that can keep him clean or he might be just another linebacker. <p style="margin-left:40px;">..."

Thanks NYC!

I'm guessing the drop-off when Armbrister had to start has them shuffling for better depth.

Armbrister was horrible. Hopefully this guy can be marginally better than him.
I remember some people projected us grabbing him in the draft. Seems like just a guy, but he is young- maybe he will develop.
Quote:I'm guessing the drop-off when Armbrister had to start has them shuffling for better depth. Drop-off is putting it mildly. Armbrister was horrible against Tampa. And some people wanted him to start instead of Posluszny. ![]() ![]() Quote:Drop-off is putting it mildly. Armbrister was horrible against Tampa. Also funny how the army of Poz-haters has been eerily quiet around here. *knocks on wood* We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Thing is, the more I look into how this Defense is operated, you really really need a good LB pair at MIKE and WIL in order to make it go. For a really good example of how this Defense is intended to operate, take a look at Carolina's game against Philadelphia this past Sunday night. Thomas Davis and Luke Keuchly were all over the place making tackles. That's the kind of performance you need for this Defense to really work.

Pullard is pretty decent depth

Reynolds was claimed off waivers or would've been resigned. He had to be cut to create more depth for defensive back purposes. George being cut was baffling. THe most baffling was letting go of JT Thomas.
Quote:Reynolds was claimed off waivers or would've been resigned. He had to be cut to create more depth for defensive back purposes. Yea, JT has been playing real well for Giants.
The rapid revolving door at the bottom of the LB depth chart has been a bit dizzying. While I recognize that they seek players to fit more specialized roles than some defenses do -- I sure wish they'd hit on some solid depth already.

Browns fans seemed to like the kid:
<a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.scout.com/nfl/browns/forums/4409-the-watercooler/14231417-gribble-browns-sign-db-casey-to-ps-lose-lb-pullard-to-jags'>http://www.scout.com/nfl/browns/forums/4409-the-watercooler/14231417-gribble-browns-sign-db-casey-to-ps-lose-lb-pullard-to-jags</a> Looks like he has some game speed so he should contribute to our lackluster special teams coverage immediately.

Hayes Pullard lll – @HayesPullard
Excited and Blessed to suit up on Sundays as a Jacksonville Jaguar. Sincere thanks to David Caldwell and the entire @Jaguars Organization! 12:38 PM - 28 Oct 2015 from Georgia, USA

Really like the idea of Pullard being a backup to Poz at MIKE. More athletic and Better in coverage but lacking height and length. 2:58 PM - 28 Oct 2015
