HOME PLAYOFF GAME - who do you prefer to host

#1
(This post was last modified: 10-26-2015, 08:59 AM by HURRICANE!!!.)

Who do you prefer to host in the Round 1 Wild Card playoff game?

Let's assume the Patriots, Bengals, and Broncos win their divisions ..... that leaves the following ....

Jets (solid)

Dolphins (on the rise)

Steelers (Ben coming back next week)

Raiders (solid defense, offense getting better)

Glad I pre-ordered my 6 tix when I got the email.

Keep Jan 9-10 open ... We're in the hunt !!!

I think that's Gerhert's arm raising the Lombardi Trophy !!

Why not the Dolphins? We already beat them once.

I think with the coaching change, the Dolphins are a scary good team now and could be the best out of those 4 in the end.  To be the best you got to beat the best. Bring on the Dolphins.

LOL PLAYOFFS?

Did you just say....PLAYOFFS?

I'd rather host the Bengals. We could crack Dalton like an egg.

I still think we would lose to all 3. We barley beat a team with EJ Manuel at QB. The dude threw for almost 300 yards.

Lol. Yeah,, It's still a good possibility that the Steelers win the AFCN. The Bengals just struggle with them for some reason,, they play each other this week. If Pitt wins,, the AFCN race is on.

Anyway,, both Steelers and Bengals will most likely make the playoffs. Each team will have 11- 12 wins.

Jags 7-9

hosting

Bengals 11-5

Really,, with the frequency of losing teams getting into the playoffs by way of a pitiful division,, I think it's time they do a "re-seeding" of sorts to ensure that losing team does not host a playoff game.

-Division Winners still make the playoffs (that's still a lock).

-2 non-division winning WC teams still get in.

-However, if a division winner is by far the worst record in the playoffs,, they should not be hosting a playoff game. Give the home game to the team that had a much better season.

Really,, it wouldn't affect very much at all. Only a Wildcard Round Game would be a change of venue.

Reward the 11-5 Wildcard Team with home field advantage for that game.

Don't give that reward to the 7-9 team just because they were the "Best of the Garbage Dump".

Yes,, it does seem Mad. But, this division is so bad, 7-9 or even 6-10 may be enough to win it.

As insane as it sounds,, it's still a very real possibility.

As bad as this division is, playoffs are definitely a possibility.  The team that gets hot and can put together enough wins down the stretch has complete control over their own destiny.  It's not like any one of the teams is stepping up and taking the South at this point.  If we can get to 6 or 7 wins?  It won't be pretty, but it may be enough to actually make the playoffs.  There's a lot of football left to be played, and for the first time in a long time, the Jags aren't essentially eliminated by the bye week. Now, the team is just as likely to have the wheels come completely off after the bye.  At least it'll be interesting to watch.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

If 6-10 wins the division, I think the entire AFC south needs to be disqualified and a 3rd team bye needs to be implemented.

Let's do it. Make the playoffs at 6-10 and still get a high draft pick. Best of both worlds.

Doesn't work that way. Make the playoffs and you get one of the last 12 picks.

I like the idea of the Jags of 2015 being this year's Panthers. Home playoff game is coming.

That may have been the intention of the OP, but I don't think it's a woosh.  Look at the division.  7 games into the season, with 2 wins, we're a game out of the division lead.  While the playoffs are a longshot, they're not a complete impossibility.  Considering the fact that this team has been all but eliminated from post season contention by the bye week the past few years, having even a sliver of something to be optimistic about is a good thing.
