Quote:I thought the same when they drafted him. But honestly, when Sample has played I don't think he's played that well.

Well, he was a 4th round pick. They knew he was going to be a project when they drafted him. One of the knocks on him pre-draft was lack of experience. They must have felt strongly enough that he had potential to develop into something to take him when they did.

Honestly, Sample jumped from JuCo to Louisville to NFL in two years. That's a huge gap to cover quickly. Considering he's been hurt 60% of his time here, its no surprise he's behind. I had hoped he would have been able to supplant Cyp this season, but the injuries have set him back. If he makes a move at SS instead of FS, it won't happen until after this season

Watching Landon Collins in coverage today made me feel better about Cyp not gonna lie

Didn't he take the wrong angle on that deep throw and end up running into the CB, which created distance between the WR and ended any chance of the CB catching the WR?

Yeah he did.

But I won't be too hard on him because we won and we did force that fumble.

The guy takes horrible angles and has very poor instincts in coverage.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
