I know it's not a big deal but rotoworld's hatred for Blake Bortles is comical

#1

These guys (for whatever reason) continually spin Blake's positive performances into negative ones, they did it in the preseason are still doing it now. The guy is a 2nd year QB throwing to 2nd year receivers playing behind the leagues worst offensive line, all while being "supported" by the leagues worst defensive ,a non existent running game, and one of the leagues worst head coaches. Here's a quote from yesterday, I love the "skittish in the pocket" comment, making it seem as if the six sacks are all on Blake, what a joke.

"Blake Bortles completed 23-of-33 passes for 303 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Bucs.
He added one carry for 21 yards. The stats are good, but Bortles continued to make bad reads and look skittish in the pocket, taking six sacks. Bortles hit Allen Hurns on a 12-yard slant for Jacksonville's first touchdown. He connected with Allen Robinson for two scores and threw a red-zone TD to T.J. Yeldon. Bortles has 1,299 yards through five weeks, but is completing 57 percent of his passes. Bortles is a low-end streaming option against Houston in Week 6."

So why would it bother you? They're not saying he's terrible their just saying that because of certain factors he's not a "safe" fantasy play

Because it happens every week, it's clear they have an agenda, I have an issue with any major media outlet that spins information, it's unprofessional.

Such a horrible fantasy prospect, that's why he outscored all but one of my QB's.

Andrew Luck- 2nd season- 23 TDs and 3800 yards

Bortles- 2nd season pace - 32 TDs and 4100 yards

He's a superstar. GET A REAL HEAD COACH AND WE ARE BACK.

The two players are very similar, both guys are capable of putting up big stats, both also struggle with consistency in decision making and accuracy. The difference is the media has a fascination with Andrew Luck, and has since his days at Stanford. There's a perception that he's an elite QB and that's far form the case, I'd make the argument that Andrew has regressed, and while he's a talented football player, I think he'll always be a QB that struggles with accuracy and decision making.

Noticed what? Odds are you don't even watch any of the games.

The Jaguars couldn't run the ball yesterday against a defensive line that hasn't stopped anyone from running the ball, it allowed it's QB to get sacked 6 times by a team that has failed to get pressure on opposing QB's. The Jaguars have the worst offensive line in football, especially now that it's best lineman is out for the year.

Rotoworld at it again :

Bortles has a Grade 1 AC joint sprain. It's an injury receivers often play through, but it's trickier for quarterbacks. For now, Bortles should be considered day to day, but we tentatively expect him to suit up against the Texans. Chad Henne would get the start if Bortles couldn't go. Bortles hasn't been as good as his recent numbers indicate, but Henne would be a severe downgrade

The hate is amazing. My buddy who's a Packers fan says he doesn't think Bortles is good and his stats look better because there are injuries to some big name QBs. Apparently on pace to pass for similar numbers as Rodgers last year, INTs aside, isn't impressive since Romo broke his clavicle.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Lol. It's hard to change people's initial perception.

Once he plays well in a national game it will happen.

He's the 8th highest scoring player in fantasy football over the first five games. Yeah, I guess you don't play him if your other option is Aaron Rodgers. Rotoworld is full of such wisdom. Smile
