Visitors from Scotland staying on Orlando

#1

Hello all,

My girlfriend and I are travelling from Scotland tomorrow (Monday the 14th) and will be staying in Orlando for 10 nights. I have noticed the Jaguars will be playing at home against the Dolphins on Sunday the 20th and we would love the chance to see an NFL game whilst in America having only seen a game at Wembley in London.

I was looking for some advice on the best way to get from Orlando to Jackson via public transport as oppose to driving so we can fully enjoy the atmopshere? Also any advice on tickets or am I best to purchase via the Jaguars website?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Technically: Amtrak train.

Realistically: None.

You could make it work by getting to Jax on Saturday but you'd be wasting half a day. Less hassle and more flexibility to hire a car and use a designated driver.

Best bet to rent a car, or pay Uber...errr Eric.

Yeah, sadly the mass transit here is terrible.  You most likely would have to rent a car and go that route.  It will make your life much easier.

I'm actually going to Scotland next month, maybe we can bounce some ideas off one another.

There is really no getting to Jacksonville from Orlando via public transport.  It doesn't exist in the way that you are used to.  You have a couple of options there, either drive, or hire Eric.  It's about a 2.5-3 hour drive in good traffic each way.

As far as tickets, I suggest Jaguars.com, especially with this short of notice.

I would rent a car so that you can enjoy all the things that the city has to offer including the beach!

Car will be the most convenient option but may be problematic if you're not used to driving here.  In addition to the points mentioned, you can use a private coach (Greyhound) and uber or taxi it from there.  Bus is probably the closest thing you'll find to the convenience of railway service in the UK.  I'd stay away from Amtrak.

I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.
