I wonder what would happen if a coach with the same old radio problems finally said "enough" and pulled his team off the field at Gillette, refusing to go back out until the issue was resolved and a league observer was placed alongside every box, board and switch that controls the headset transmission...delay-of-gamed into eternity, or forfeited out? Not that it'd ever happen.

It's always something with this team. I just hope when Brady and Belichick are gone this team goes through a stretch of misery like the Red Sox did when they traded away the Babe.

To appease the what if, the head ref would claim that team forfeited and award the Patriots with a win.  I never see that happening though.

Would be nice, but unfortunately it will never happen. Other teams need to start pulling the same crap on them when they're on the road. Turn about is fair play.

Can't call them stupid if they're doing it on purpose since nothing is done about it. Literally everyone knows this goes on in Foxborough and it just keeps happening time and again.

It would be more of a story if there wasn't a new incident/ controversy with the Patriots.   Regardless what they accomplish,   there will always be questions about the legitimacy of the Patriots in the Bill Belichick era.

No doubt lots of conspiracy nuts and armchair electrical engineers are going to cry foul, but anyone who has played around with radio in the 2.4 ghz range (which I would assume the NFL system must operate around) knows how easy it is to get interference during anomalous power events.

 

I'd say I'm surprised the NFL doesn't have a more sophisticated wireless architecture, but that would be a lie.

This isn't 1950. We are dealing with digital systems. For a radio signal to do something like that would mean they are either using antiquated equipment or someone is tampering with the signal.

Actually they said the NFL officials shut down the patriots headsets when the steelers reported it.

 

im confused because according to the Steelers, when they reported the problem and NFL officials were on their way to shut down the Patriots headsets, it suddenly started working again.
