Oh, yay, a cornerback who can't cover a receiver to save his life can hold his own against the run...by cornerback standards.

In the overall context of CB play,  this is good information.

Yet,  if run Defense was the dominant theme of CB play,  Antoine Cason would currently be employed by an NFL team.

I believe Will Blackmon was also released by the Seahawks, but could be wrong on that.

I'd also like to peg myself as inb4 someone suggests moving Gratz to safety. Again.

You are correct about Will Blackmon being released by the Seahawks,    He was released in the cutdown to 53 players.

I think there's at least more than a 50 % chance that Blackmon will be re-signed by the Seahawks next week or soon after.    If this happens,  his entire base salary for the 2015 won't be guaranteed.    If Blackmon would have been on their 53 man roster for Game # 1 in St. Louis,   as a vested veteran his entire base salary for this season would have been guaranteed.     Being that Seattle has a problematic salary cap situation after giving out lucrative contracts to Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson,  not to mention some other contracts in the last year,    every cap dollar is significant for them.

A dime CB such as Gratz should be good against the run just in case an offense tries a sneak run.

So, what's up with Demetrius McCray. Did he fall out of favor? If Gratz is 3rd, then it's House/Colvin/Gratz? Weird.

What's up with McCray? Did he forget how to play football or something?

If Demetrius McCray isn't in the Jags top 3 CB lineups at this time,  one thought that comes to mind is the missed practice time with the knee injury he dealt with might be a contributing factor.

McCray playing all the 4th pre-season game says it all

I wonder if that was because of the missed practice time or because he has truly fallen behind on the depth chart?

Or maybe that the Jags believe his overall skills(run and pass) are 3rd because his pass coverage skills are not as good as House or Colvin
