Bortles will become the best QB of this franchise

Bortles has definitely put in the necessary hard work to better his game this offseason and it has definitely shown in game. His stock is pointing in the right direction and it can only get better with his progression.

I feel like we have found THE quarterback that we need, who can take us to the next level. He is our FRANCHISE QB. Also, his national perception will change positively - and subsequently our team - but that is something that does not matter. Winning does.

Now let's work with the players around him to get our team where we need them to be. Playoff contenders.

Go Jags!

He's the best QB we've ever had in a Jags uniform. Going to be special if we can gather some talent around him. Right now I feel like the defense is still poor and Joeckel is short term...

Like someone else mentioned...

He has looked surgical in his throws while displaying phenomenal athleticism in-and-out of the pocket. Looks like a leaner Big Ben with the work ethic of an elite QB. The sky is the limit for him.

We need serious playmakers around him like a Megatron, Dez, D. Thomas, etc.

Nonetheless, he has made others around him look really good. The ball is on point, regardless of whether it gets dropped or caught.

Roto is hot garbage.

It wouldn't surprise me if this would happen.

Let's see what Henne and Morris and Tuel and the QB Coach and DRob and Colvin can do before we declare this QB competition over.

Bortles = Young Mark Brunell

This "QB competition" was over before it even began.

Bortles is THE leader of this team.

Trying not to get too high off preseason. But man...if he did have an elite WR with him it could be crazy.

There is a night and day difference when Bortles is on the field vs any other QBs that we put on the field.

Bortles sets up our players for positive plays and dropping dimes.

Julius Thomas will definitely help out for Bortles but like you said, an elite WR would set our offense over the top.

Quote:Blake Bortles continues solid preseason

Blake Bortles | JAC

(August 28, 2015 10:42 PM EDT)

Blake Bortles completed 20-of-29 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown in Jacksonville's third preseason game.

He added four carries for 38 yards. Borltes made some nice throws to Allen Hurns, including a 13-yard play-action touchdown. He would have had another touchdown, but Allen Robinson dropped a pass in the end zone. Bortles has put together a solid preseason, competing 39-of-60 passes for 461 yards and a touchdown through three games. Bortles has potential to be a streaming option in redraft leagues.
And cue the backpedalling.

Dude if we had someone like Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant, Damarius Thomas...Bortles would look like Luck, or better.

Bortles looks better each game. Might be a little earlier to say this, but I'm hoping the Jags sign a big time WR next off season. Overall the Jags have a good line up of young wide outs, yet I'm not sure they have found their new Jimmy Smith just yet. Above all we have a franchise QB which matters the most.

We have to go all out if any elite WR's hit the market.
