Bortles will become the best QB of this franchise

Quote:The win was nice, but Blake's continued progress is key. We need to fix the LT position.
I agree wholeheartedly. The offensive line still needs some work because we can see what Bortles can do with some time in the pocket.

Amazing happens. Amazing happened.

It must be nice for a young QB to have all these weapons around him. A-Rob, Hurns, JT, Yeldon. Props to D-Rob as well.

I think that statement goes both ways though. Those weapons are also a product of Blake's performance.

That's what a franchise QB does.

We have a real TEAM on our hands for the first time in many years.

He hit his 30 this game.

I wish he got his 31st but it's all good because he ran it in for the 50-burger TD.

Did anyone honestly think he'd throw 30 tds this year? I thought he was going to improve, but hitting the 30 mark is incredibly impressive

Guaranteed that 99.99999% of the population here on the Jags MB would have taken Bortles statistics (30 TDs - 13 INTs) if we were told that at the beginning of the season. What he has achieved so far this season is nothing short of remarkable, honestly.

P.S. baconator and some Jags troll who is irrelevant constitutes the 0.00001%.

P.P.S. The statistic was pulled out of my [BLEEP].

Bortles is the best QB in franchise history from a talent standpoint. Might not be the most tenured, but he is proving to be the man

Anything else Bortles does this season is just gravy. He's done everything I hoped. My checklist for this season is all filled.

Reverse the TD:INT ratio - Check

Improve decision making - Check

Improve Throwing mechanics/footwork - Check

Improve Deep ball - Major check

One Dominating game - Major Check (5 TDS? What..the..brady)

Raise possible floor - Check. (Worst game was 2 TDs 2 INTs?, Ill take it)

Raise possible ceiling - Check.

2016 goals:

Close out games -

Full field reads -

Less Pick 6's -

Better audibles -

Can't wait to see whats next.

The only thing he needs is better accuracy. I mean he is already playing at a franchise level right now, but you boost that accuracy 60-65% and people will be talking about him as a top 5 QB

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Completion percentage does not equal accuracy. Thats just a "stat". It's influenced so much by other players that I disregard it as a measuring stick for QBs nowadays. Its all about the eye test. Bortles isn't reading the entire field and reading the defensive package is still a work in progress. Thats fine. Thats year 3/4 stuff anyway for a QB. Bortles is still way ahead where year 2 QBs usually are anyway.

Your 2016 goals are on point.

Imagine if he can read the defenses and make adjustment/audibles as needed pre-snap and improve some of his decision making during the play...watch out!

If you put Bortles on those early Jags teams with the talent they had on offense and they win a Super Bowl.

That's my feeling on it.

If he had a solid offensive line he would be talked about as being a top QB in the league right now.

Nothing against Bortles...but it's not like Brunell was bad.

I didn't say that he was bad but I would rank Bortles over Mark no question.

Blake is ranked 6th in the NFL in passing yards and oh by the way he's now 88.4 rating... WOW!

and he's in third place in the NFL in passing TDs with 30!
