Quote:Here's what Buck, who was raised in St. Louis, had to say Tuesday via the social media site:

My opinion: take the NFL out of Stl and our downtown has no impetus for change. Indy and Cincy have passed us by. It's bigger than football

— Joe Buck (@Buck) August 25, 2015

Downtown Stl can't b just random restaurants, Cardinal baseball, a truncated version of Ballpark Village, and some Blues games-life is needed

— Joe Buck (@Buck) August 25, 2015

Kroenke not only has the chance to cash in on LA,but punch a great city that at one point he seemed to enjoy. Esp when Rams were relevant

— Joe Buck (@Buck) August 25, 2015

Suck the life out of a team, run it down, raise prices, then say it isn't supported and leave. Great example for the NFL to celebrate JOKE!

— Joe Buck (@Buck) August 25, 2015

An owner who wore a NEW Rams hat in Oxnard and acts like he's been there promoting the team while with Jerry-what an insult to good fans

— Joe Buck (@Buck) August 25, 2015

@Buck How better of would STL have been if Shad Khan had been able to buy the #Rams?

— Chris Patton (@chrispatton_33) August 25, 2015

100 percent better https://t.co/wfPrMqxtSE

According to some delusional Rams fans, he's going to move the Jaguars there. So it's all good.

While I admire his passion, you all will hopefully excuse me for not really caring about anything Joe Buck says.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

He grew up in St Louis. I would think many many Jaguar fans would have the same feelings if it was happening here.

Kroenke never had any intention of keeping the Rams in St Louis. He was ready to cash out right when he bought the team. I'm glad we have Khan.

There have been NFL owners worse than Stan Kroenke but I can't think of any that are current owners of the other 31 NFL teams. Kroenke has put a losing product on the field every season he's been the Rams majority owner, stays silent when everything points to him trying to move the Rams to the Los Angeles area, and for the first time this summer shows up for Rams practices when they have joint practices at the Cowboys Training Camp in Oxnard, CA.

Rams fans that want the team to stay in St. Louis are in a catch 22 situation. If they stay away from going to games and watching them on TV/ listening on the radio, that will be used against St. Louis in their attempt to keep the Rams. If they support the Rams this season, they are lining Kroenke's already ultra deep pockets.

In many ways, Stan Kroenke is a modern day version of Georgia Frontiere. Both put losing products on the field and alienated their local fan bases. It's one thing to field bad teams. It's another to use that as a springboard to move out of the market.

The biggest difference between Kroenke and Frontiere is that Kroenke has a much greater business sense than Frontiere ever did. Kroenke has yet to field even a .500 team but seems adept at playing business poker.

Good luck dealing with him in LA. Seems like he will only bring misery to the fans of his team.

Growing up in St. Louis, you'd think he'd know that the owner of the Ram's love for St. Louis was limited to the times when the fans really supported the team, and that waned when the team started to fall back into middling status. As the greatest show on turf faded into a distant memory, so did ticket sales. Talk to anyone in St. Louis and they'll tell you it's a baseball town that happens to have a football team. There's not the passion there for the Rams that exists for the Cards, and it's not even close. In St. Louis, it's baseball, looting, hockey, and a distant fourth goes to football.

If I were a Rams fan, I would have a hard time going to any games this season. I would almost do it for nostalgia and the memories, but I just don't know how I would react.

Kroenke is a crappy owner. You're right. He took a great franchise and ran it into the ground so that he could justify building a stadium in LA. When that market doesn't leap to support the team (there's a track record there), my guess is he'll cash in his chips.

They would have been much better off if Khan had bought the team, but they were too worried he'd move it to LA. Funny how that works.

I definitely agree that St. Louis by far is a baseball/ Cardinals town above all other sports. Yet, the combination of bad ownership over the decades ( Bill Bidwell through Stan Kroenke), very few winning teams other than the years of the Greatest Show on Turf, and the baseball Cardinals being an elite winning organization much more often than not very likely has contributed to St. Louis collectively not having tremendous passion for the Rams. And before the Rams, the football Cardinals.

If St. Louis had winning teams and was still not a passionate football town, then I would be comfortable with them losing another NFL team. But with the Rams horrific history over the last decade and the willingness of St. Louis to build a new stadium for the Rams, I think it would be a major mistake by the NFL if the league approves the Rams relocation. It could set the stage for other teams to move under similar circumstances.

It's indeed a terrible situation for St. Louis Rams fans.

In their position, I would probably force myself to support the team despite Stan Kroenke. With the hope that it makes enough of an impression on NFL owners. The ideal situation for St. Louis football fans is the Rams stay, with a new football stadium being built, and Kroenke sells to local ownership that is totally committed to St. Louis.

There's no question that St. Louis would be much better off if Shad Khan ended up as the Rams primary owner instead of Stan Kroenke. Khan has certainly made a concerted effort with the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise and his investment in Jacksonville. On the other hand, Kroenke reminds me of the owner in the movie, ' Major League'.

There will never be the passion for the Rams in St. Louis as there is for the Cardinals. The football franchise has always played second fiddle.

Agreed. But that should be expected being that the baseball Cardinals were around in St. Louis dating back to the 19th Century and have the best track record of any National League Franchise. Even with this, if the Rams put good products on the field with ownership that's committed to St. Louis, they should get good support in every which way.
