David Gilmour confirms Pink Floyd is actually finished
 

Just as many fans had suspected, Pink Floyd is officially over. David Gilmour confirmed that the band would not reunite in the coming years, and that last year’s The Endless River, their first record since 1994’s The Division Bell, would be their last.

Pink Floyd was actually finished in 1984 when Roger Waters left. The subsequent efforts were really just David Gilmour solo albums.

This, pretty much. The Gilmour-fronted Floyd didn't really feel like Pink Floyd at all. Based upon the albums released after Roger's departure, his statement that he was leaving because Pink Floyd was "spent" was very accurate.
