HOF Game. Pit vs Minn

#1

Pitt rested their offensive skill starters.

Minnesota played their 1st team sans Peterson.

Pit's defense looks pretty solid even with their losses. Landry Jones was pretty on par with Teddy stats wise to start the game. Minnesota had no running game really without AP.

Minnesota looks a little disappointing for how much they've been hyped up this offseason. I don't see much there really.

Minny's helmets look nice though.

You know....not having two different colors and sheens cutting their logo in half...

He's an absolute stud. He's going to be a big time player in this league that's for sure. With all this feisty young talent they have, and a returning AP, I can sense intimidation right about now from D6.

DiamondJag, since Adrian Peterson re-joined the Vikings,   I have been concerned that they have the potential to make a noticeable jump in their W-L record.   If their Offensive Line,  which is a huge question mark,  comes together,  and their injury situation stays under control relatively speaking,   I think the Vikings will have a winning record.   With a playoff spot a very realistic possibility.   I'm impressed with the Defensive Talent they have acquired in recent seasons and the high quality coaches that they have.

That was an awful game. Landry Jones is so terrible.

I didn't watch much past the first quarter where he was halfway decent.

Mainly watched to see Teddy. Who to me seemed like he had happy feet in the pocket.

That was all that I was interested in as well. He didn't do anything to change my perception of him coming in, which is that he doesn't have much of an arm and throws a lot of checkdowns and underneath passes that his players do a good job of running with.

Yes. We need speed and athletic playmakers. Diggs is the man.

Did Ted even throw a single pass more than five yards beyond the line of scrimmage?

Good to see he's already in regular season form.

Anytime I saw Diggs play, I was impressed. But I also remember him missing alot of time with injuries.

I was specifically watching for that, and if there was one single pass that went somewhere around 5 yards past the LOS, other than that one single pass every one I can recall was a dump to a back or a shallow cross to someone less than 5 yards from the line. Teddy reminds me of Pennington. Has everything except for the arm, and he'll hold onto a job and win a lot of regular season games with no shot at going further than the divisional round of the playoffs, if he can ever even get there with Detroit and GB in his division.

I think Teddy will end up being a good player, but not a super star. Those on Twitter, etc, who cannot get past the Teddy love befuddle me. He's good, solid even, but I have total faith that Blake will prove to be a much better player.

My thoughts exactly. Blake had more exciting throws in the scrimmage. Teddy is good, but he's not far from his ceiling. Nothing wrong with check downs of they're working, but you've gotta be able to take those intermediate to deep shots.

I don't see him making those deep sideline passes that Rodgers or even Brady/Manning still can make.

This pre-season game was potentially very costly for the Steelers:
