Let's get this out of the way now

People, if we don't perform well against the Steelers next Friday, don't be surprised.

Based off the past few years, they are the better team.

They have been practicing at least a week ahead of the Jaguars, since they are in the Hall of Fame game tonight.

They will have already played their first game, while the Jaguars just had their scrimmage.

On top of that...IT's JUST PRESEASON!!!!!

Please tell yourselves that all week.

Stand in front of a mirror and chant it to yourself.

Write 100 sentences "I will not overreact to preseason."

Have it tattooed somewhere on your body.

Put a daily reminder on your cell phone.

The team will not gameplan.  The starters won't be in very long.

I know I'm probably spitting into the wind here, but I am hoping for perspective.

100% agree. I just want to see good accuracy and pocket presence from Bortles.

Also want to see if the OL starts slow again or comes out stronger. Those my two things I want to see

If we look like crap don't overreact & if we look like world beaters don't overreact.

That being said, people gonna panic regardless.

Preseason is the time time to test a few things, see some of the players and what they can do and generally get some idea of how the team is shaping up. Win or lose is no big deal.

No injuries and getting the final pieces in place is.

This still a young team but hopefully in better shape, more experienced and a whole lot smarter.

The Big Cat is gonna eat this year!

I liked Bortles accuracy on the deep passes during the scrimmage.  On the pass to Hurns, he placed it perfectly.

He squeezed the pass to Allen Robinson into what Ketchman calls "the honey hole."

The OL started painfully slow last night.

Agreed completely.  Sad but true on the last part.

Exactly. More of the same from Bortles. And a little faster start from the OL is all I want.

But even if it doesn't go that way, like you said. It's preseason game 1. Never a time to panic. Well, shouldn't be anyway.

We can go 0-4 in the preseason and look like the white speck on top of chick dropping and I'm not going to get worked up.  This team is still rebuilding and now we have a new offensive staff for year 3 of the rebuild.

It's preseason.  No need for damage control or ticker tape parades.

Nobody's calling for a ticker tape parade. You're right though. Its only preseason. Lets see what these guys got on the field vs another team before we go into damage control first.

I would more likely classify it as "panic control" more than damage control.

Nevertheless, you are probably right.

Some people will predict a strong playoff push after Bortles strings together some good throws.

Others will be in tank mode for the season after the first couple 3 and Outs.

Just the way it goes.

I don't know, I find chaos pretty funny.. I just like to stand back and laugh at the stupidity. It's a win/win for me. Either the Jags win or I'm laughing at people all week.
