Aldon Smith arrested...again

#1

49ers linebacker Aldon Smith served a nine-game suspension last year after running into legal trouble several times and it appears he may have more problems on that front.

Matt Keller of ABC7 in San Francisco reported that Smith was arrested by Santa Clara police on Thursday night and the Santa Clara County Jail’s website shows Aldon Jacarus Smith, which is Smith’s full name, was booked on Friday. It lists a bail of $26,000 for Smith, but offers no details about what led the police to take him into custody.

It is just hard to imagine how someone after having chance after change just throws it all away over something as stupid as drinking and driving.

Many people throw their lives away with alcohol, athletes are no different. In any case it is sad.

I understand that. I don't understand the drinking and driving.

49ers are going to be bad. Their window has closed and I wouldn't be surprised if they hop on the tank bandwagon

Between him and Gabbert, Mizzou's 2011 draft class is looking terrible.

It certainly doesn't make sense.   Especially,  considering Aldon Smith is in position to be able to afford a designated driver.

Also,  this is the time of year players should be focused on training camp.   If a player is getting drunk during training camp,  football can't be too important to him.   Smith is entitled to a trial but it's very difficult to give him the benefit of the doubt based on his prior record.

I just saw something on ESPN that said he called in a bomb threat at an airport last year. Not sure if I saw that right, but if so, what? Dude has issues.

Apparently the vandalism stems from him trashing Kaepernicks car, over a woman.

Jim Tomsula is handling the Aldon Smith aftermath real well and offered some great advice:

This hasn't been a good time frame period for former highly talented Missouri players.   Sheldon Richardson allegedly driving 143 MPH's with a 12 year old as a passenger speaks for itself.   This on top of a 4 game suspension Richardson already has to serve.
