LOL

He was a gunner on ST and was very good at it. He's also a "core four" ST player.  Combine that with his speed and size as a back-up receiver and it's a very wise re-signing.

In the Coughlin days, his name was Nick Sorensen.

That's neat since he signed here in 2003.  :pirate:

JDR, whatever mr smartypants.

When he left here, he had a few more years left in Cleveland.

My point being there are a lot of guys who can make nice careers out of special teams alone, not just kickers, punters, and long snappers.

I think that's where Benn fits at this point.  Not really what you expect from a second rounder, but it is what it is (and it wasn't our second rounder.)

Every team needs those guys for sure.

And his one TD was a game-winning score.

A poll without a Blank #2 and/or Corn is not a legitimate poll.

I therefore, must abstain.

The beachum option was more surprising since it doesnt make an ounce of sense unless beachum is actually dumb enough to take less money.

Benn scores 1 td last year on limited snaps and people don't want him on the team. Maquise Lee scores 3 and people are talking about him as the #1 WR and the future of the franchise.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

Could it be that beachum is asking for too much?

No.

There was no negotiation required.  His contract was a 1 year deal, with a 4 year option.  All the Jags had to do was say, Yup, we're taking the option.  Boom.  He's on a 4 year deal.

The deal was agreed upon last year.

The Jags just chose not to take the option... I'm waiting to see why.

I think both sides of the Beachum issue wanted a new different deal.

More guarantee up front for Beachum, front loaded for us?

-shrug-

I think the option was for 10 mil fully guaranteed each year?

But essentially they could opt out after each season with minimal loss...

I'm thinking Beachum wants more security or more guarantees.

The Jags probably also want to work it front loaded....and have a happy LT for a good while?

IDK...

Maybe Reed or Shatley have come along?

Certainly TC is in on all this, so in Tom we trust, right?
