Perhaps This is Some Pre-Camp Handwringing From me...

#1

But I ran across this article a few minutes ago.

http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/07/16/...velopment/

I'm revisiting Marrone's role in the offense this year.

Yes he is serving as the OL coach...but will he have any influence in playcalling/the playbook design, etc?

If that is how he treated Manuel, I'm just hoping they don't treat Bortles similarly here.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Marrone will not negatively affect Blake. And if he starts to, he will be shown the door quickly.

Olson and Hackett are the guys that will be hands-on with Bortles the most.  Considering there was some griping about how Fisch managed the QB -  I'm sure they intend to insulate him from any negative treatment by the O-line coach.

This article was written off the basis of what Warren Sapp saw, and extrapolated. Also doesn't figure in the fact that after three starts, opposing defenses had game film on Manuel. So they were gameplanning for him. That means probably in a dime package with maybe an extra safety or corner on the field for the first down pass play. There are too many factors to consider to conclude what the article is saying.

They could be right, but they also could be wrong.

Besides, Marrone isn't calling plays. And he certainly isn't going to be one of the big parts of Blake's developmental future.

I doubt he'll have much influence on the offense beyond fixing the line.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
