I now find their "eat fresh" ads offensive.

Boycott until they are pulled.

Subway's food is horrible...its one thing to be horrible and cheap, but they don't even do the $5 footlongs anymore.  I used to go pretty often when I was on a diet.  It was a quick, easy, and cheap lunch....not anymore.

Screw you Subway.

Edit:  I also believe I read somewhere that of all the fast food chains their sales are down the most.  Could it be because all of their meat isn't actually meat?

Agree. Their meats and breads are horrible.

If they don't find something in this raid, Jared will have a little extra walking around money as a result of this.  Some of the media outlets are reporting that the raid may involve child pornography.  The guy running his foundation was arrested previously after some videos were found on his computer, and apparently there was some link to Jared Fogle that sparked this raid.

Sounds like the guy is pretty much a recluse if he's not doing his commercials.  They interviewed one of his neighbors, and the guy said they've probably seen Jared outside of the house a dozen times in the past 5 or 6 years.  He even stayed home to train for the NY Marathon doing all of his prep on a treadmill.

I know a franchise owner here locally, and he swears they use real meat.  I think we probably have different definitions.  There's top, medium, and low grade meats.  Subway has found a way to create a whole new category that's lower than the rest.  Between the lousy bread and dog food grade meat, Subway is never an option when we are talking about lunch places.

Interesting that because he does/did commercials for a fast food chain and was the subject of a raid (no official details of why the raid took place) that he's immediately labeled with being involved with child pornography, and the fast food chain suddenly has poor quality food.  There is nothing like the "court of public opinion".

As far as Subway, I eat there on occasion, about as often as I eat at pretty much most fast food chains.  I could count on one hand the number of times over the course of a year.  I don't think that I've ever had a "bad" meal when consuming a Subway sandwich, just like I don't think that I've had a "bad" Burger King or McDonald's sandwich or even a  Chik-fil-a sandwich.  Fast food is what it is.

Subway has left a poor impression on me re: food quality for decades.

Just nothing at all special about the food or the experience.

It was somewhat a novelty when they grew in the 80s and they were the only shop on the block, but since there are many better sandwich chains around.  Not to mention, few chains can touch a good local shop.

There's fast food, and then there's Chick-Fil-A. Please don't insult CFA by associating it with the likes of McDonald's, Burger King and Subway. Wink

Nothing sudden about it. Subway has been terrible for years.

I don't think Subways is any better or worse than the other big name sandwich shops, though that statement isn't meant to be a good thing.

I know I thought the place has been a dump for a solid 4-5 years now. Terrible food.

What would you consider other "big name sandwich shops"?

I dunno Firehouse is pretty good. (Especially when Scobee is nailing the 40+ yard FGs) The rest are blah.
