Personally, I'm glad to see Hackett leave Buffalo. He was in over his head as an OC, I think he can succeed as a QB coach. He seems like a great guy, so I hope this works out for him and your team.

I've never seen a banned user remembered so much, what did he become banned for? Or why is he so famous on third board?

Awesome, Im really intrigued with the bodies that have come in on the offensive side of the ball.... I truly feel this year will make everyone forget about all these rough years and finally start to enjoy the feeling of having wins again, im very confident in this happening

Bradley, Marrone, Olsen, Hackett and Skip.... wow, tons of experience now, That is a nice looking staff Gus surrounded himself with - a lot better than the previous 5 years or so

Lots of experience or too many chiefs? Will wait to see if this staff can work together.

So we've basically robbed the Raiders and the Bills for our new offensive staff. These are the 32nd and 26th ranked offensive teams in the league last year. Am I the only one who isn't terribly excited about the new blood?

Alife made a great point earlier about this regime.
They admit to their mistakes and try to correct it.
Going with such a young coaching staff to coach all these young players was a really bad idea. A lot of people actually said that when they were hired. Hiring a rookie OC to coach a bunch of rookies is a terrible idea.
Luckily they saw this and have since corrected it.

I see what you are saying but look at the talent level on both of those offenses. Last year the case could be made that we had a better receiving group then both of those teams with what we feel is a much better option for long term QB at the helm. Yet Carr had a good rookie year and the Bills went up and down but occasionally looked good on offense. Buffalo had less sacks with a pretty ugly o line as well.
I feel the hires are guys who have experience and past succes in certain areas , olsen with young raw QBs , and Marrone with faster zone blocking lines so they are targeting those areas.
When theirs alot of chiefs in the same village that means something big is happening but thats just me. New offense , blake holding his own passing camp, extra staff on the offensive side of the ball. For them its do or die one would think they are going to go big.

This. All this turnover on the coaching staff was Bradley's idea. Go big or go home. Regardless of whether you think these hires were the right ones, the collective experience of the offensive coaching staff can't be denied. We'll know for sure after this year, one way or the other, whether Gus has this team headed in the right direction.
If his plan doesn't work, everyone's fired anyway. If the team does well enough for Gus to keep his job then that should be something all of the fans are happy about.

Hackett doesn't have a long track record of developing QB's that I am aware of. Who has he produced from anywhere? I like the name but I don't know him well enough to know he can get results at the position.

I figured we'd go with a QB coach that has a lot of experience with QB's. Granted, everyone's saying how good Olsen is with that, but he's the OC here so he won't be fully devoted to handling Bortles. That'll be Hackett's job. Hope it works out, but I'm not going to jump on the bus and claim that these are great hires.

Other than that, I've heard Hackett was handcuffed a bit by Marrone in Buffalo.
And he had EJ Manuel and Kyle Orton to work with there...
And prior to Syracuse, he was mostly just an "offensive assistant" throughout the NFL dating back to 06 and Stanford before then...
Between Olson and Hackett, Bortles should be able to improve.

Don't forget that they are keeping Scelfo in a yet to be named role.

Sound like the team is really learning from not having some type of NFL experience as a plus. Even if it is a couple years. Just some type of type track record.

I am not impressed by the past results of our coaching staff.
I'll wait till the preseason to get the least bit excited. Bortles will probably light it up again when there no zero blitzes coming at him.
