Maybe this is forward thinking by Gus. He hired rookie coaches and asst. with out a lot of NFL experience and that was a mistake. Does not mean they are not good coaches. So he hires a few 1 or 2 and done coaches with NFL experience to position coaching jobs. Not only to bolster our offense and train our rookies the right way, But to train our rookie coaches and asst. the right way and let them learn. Scelfo and Butkus will learn form experienced position coaches get much needed knowledge and teaching skills, then when Marrone and Hackett take off we have thier replacements already trained in the system and seaseoned a bit more.
Or im just whistling in the wind. :teehee:

That actually makes sense. Because most likely Marrone and Hackett will be one and done if we have a good season.
Teddy looked decent this year but I don't think he was too much better than BlAke honestly and I loved Teddy in the draft.

The problem with Teddy is the player we saw this year will likely be the player we see the next 10 years, I just don't see the upside with him. It certainly helps he had a Norv Turner (who makes most QB's look competent) and solid playmakers around him, Greg Jennings, Charles Robinson etc..

I think he has some upside but the rest of his statement seems accurate. I do think Teddy will be a good QB in the League but I can't see him becoming an elite passer.

Charles Johnson? Greg Jennings? Matt Asiata?
Good lord... Norv Turner is the main reason he did well. He does not have talent around him.
I think Blake had and will have much better weapons around him. Teddy just had the benefit of having Norv there.
I think if you put Norv here last year, our offense looks very different. Norv knows how to get the most out of his talent while Fisch did not.
In my wildest dreams, I would not have envisioned a Raiders/Bills coaching staff hybrid as being our potential saviors. But there you have it.
No more excuses.
Every player now has his own coach.

Seems like Blake has three.
