The whole line is pretty inconsistent. The left side, and the RT especially. Bowanko and Linder both make the occasional rookie mistake paired on top of the physical deficiencies on the sides.

I think Bowanko and Linder are pieces to build around. Yes they are making rookie mistakes right now, but they will get better with experience. Honestly, I thought they both played pretty well against Houston with Watt bouncing around.
Bowanko was (understandably) having an issue with #98 Brandon Williams on the Ravens. Guys like him (6'1" and 335lbs) are just too much for him to handle alone at the point this year. An offseason in the weight room will do the whole offensive line wonders.
Re-watching the Game Rewind today, I also saw a few cut blocks that my untrained eye would categorize as bad attempts/ ineffective. Joeckel and Bowanko had a few that stood out.
Definitely a few mistakes by Storm Johnson too. Not real surprising there either.

I do too.
I have to go with a lot of people and say most if not all is at fault. Give up too many sacks because we are in 3rd and long, and one of the reasons we are in third and long is because we can't run block. Now scheme has to do with that also. It has to be a Really good o-line to be able to run on 1st and 2nd down time after time. It has been done, but we do not have the players for that. So keep resigning the Defense. Go 1,2 and 3 in the draft on o-linemen. Not say you can't trade back or up or what ever. Just get the QB some help for a change.
Quote:So whose to blame? David Caldwell. You know, the guy who thought this was an adequate roster to field.
But wait, it's a total rebuild...yawn!
Caldwell thought that Uche and Rackley were the problem and had them replaced. Only, their replacements appear to be even worse.

Worse than Rackley? That takes a special player to accomplish the feat!
"The JAGS are pretty much where they should be based on performance and actual talent. Little or no offense all year long that would look even more bleak if our defense wasn't the shining spot for the most part. Particularly, our DL. They have performed above and beyond............A grade. linebackers and overall defense once the ball got past the front line is not too bad either. Would grade them a B- or high C."...
If our defensive line is so great, why are we ranked 27th in run defense and why are we one of the easiest teams to run a score up on? Sacks? Yeah, we're much better at sacking the quarterback now than we were... too bad it doesn't stop other teams from scoring most of the time; but then again, it seems like that's a NFL lesson that Gus hasn't learned yet. The goal isn't to facilitate helping players 'be the best they can be' but to finish the game with more points on the scoreboard for us than the other team has.... it's called winning; something we haven't had much experience with in a long time, especially the last couple of years...

Do you actually think Linder is worse than Nwaneri and Rackley?

Exactly. I would hope anyone could see Linder being better. Even Beadles is better than either of those guys.
And FWIW, Uche is unemployed in the NFL and Rackley is still just a backup.
Luke Tobias Joeckel is a joke. As big as he is and he consistently out played and man handled. I know it is technically his first real year playing, but cmon MAN, man up and block someone. He lacks that meanness, that nasty attitude you need playing on the line. He is like a little puppy.

You are correct. I don't get that post from Jags02 at all. I was hoping he was joking.
Offensive line's weakness: Blocking.

come on man, didn't you watch Lageman's video? You just don't know football if you blame the offensive line for sacks. It's everything BUT them
The weaknesses are where the strengths are not, specifically all along the OL outside Linder

hold on there. what are your expertise? do you regularly analyze game film and dissect every play call? if not, im not sure you know enough to have an opinion on this.
I mean, unless you are in Bortles helmet hearing every play call and know all the responsibilities, then you need to be taking Lageman at his word when he says everything is fine there. Don't bother forming your own opinion, because that is flawed and cant possibly be right.

At first I was about to rip into this until I realized it was sarcasm. The whole idea that just because we're fans we can't figure out that the O-line is playing like garbage is ridiculous.

Odd way to present a joke but I hope you're right.

Still laughing about this one.
