Quote:Only thing hurt on Bortles is his confidence and his development. I'm seeing these other rookie qb's getting significantly better each week.
Like which ones, in particular? Carr? Teddy? Manziel? All of them? Some other rookie I'm not aware of?
Quote:I know I am in the minority here, but I don't hate Fisch. I actually like what he brings to the table. I think he needs one more year. I know, everyone is going to hate that, but last year he had Henne and this year, well, the O-line is porous at best.
It's probably gonna happen, and I personally don't hate it if it happens. I think it'll be a recipe for a 5-6 win season, if we're lucky...
Specifically, what do you like that he brings to the table?
Quote:3rd and 6. Game on the line. Shotgun run up the middle by Todman stuffed for 3 yard loss. /thread
Our season in a nutshell.
You can't tell me that running a draw with the 3rd string RB with the game on the line is the best play we could run in that situation. Fisch's job is to tailor to the offense's strength. While we may not have any "strengths" there is no way that is the person we want with the ball in his hand in that situation.

Maybe he was trying to catch the Ravens off guard

In that case, he needs to go.

Riiiight.. Johnny Feetsball looked wonderful today... Put any qb behind the porous, crumbling wall that is our O-line and see how they fare....

I just think there are stretches where you can see that his plan is effective, when guys are executing. I think that he has had some boneheaded play calls, but that all O-coordinators do. This team has no consistency and I am not sure that is all Fisch's fault. I mean, our best offensive weapon in the last 2 years has been Blackmon for a whole 4 game stretch. Otherwise its been rookies and an old MJD.
Also, I would hate to see Bortles trying to learn a new offense in year 2. A major problem with the franchise is there is no consistency to anything it has done in the last 5 years, other than lose (beat people to it!) I think that if we change too much before 3 years, we run the risk of being like Washington and Cleveland, who, even during their high points, are really just overachieving. I hate to think about another losing season, but I dread the idea of starting over again, without making sure. We might have to start over again in a year or two anyways, but I want to make sure it is the right time.
That being said, I understand everyone's frustration. I get frustrated watching the games too, I just tend to avoid posting about it.

Yup. Can't argue with you on that.

So you're throwing a player who started his first game today into the conversation? Don't play stupid all your life.

He's going to have to learn a new offense year 3 anyways.
Quote:No you're not.
Don't tell me what I see. Bortles is the worst rated quarterback going right now. Worry about your favorite team's signal caller buddy. He needs all the support he can get.
Quote:Our season in a nutshell.
Its called a draw play when you hand off from the shotgun, and your in 4 down territory. Sometimes you catch em with their pants down because the are playing the pass. Sometime your Rookie Center gets blown up.

It's called running with your 3rd or 4th best RB when your only good OL just went down with an injury. Fisch is completely incompetent once his scripted plays run out.

Bridgewater threw two interceptions on back to back drives. Manziel looked like garbage. Carr struggles to be accurate. All the rookie QBs are struggling/ showing promise. No rookie QB has looked light years ahead of another.
Quote:So you're throwing a player who started his first game today into the conversation? Don't play stupid all your life.
Ok.. Aaron Rogers threw ZERO td's and 2 int's today... It happens to the best of them and he has a much better O-line to hide behind.... I think it's YOU that needs to stop playing stupid... Oh wait... You aren't playing, are you..
Quote:I don't think our "highly-regarded" OC should go after this year. Don't get me wrong, he's had some bad plays called but you just can't do much when your offensive "line" isn't protecting your QB. Fake punt gone for 19 yards? Ignore the play, he sucks. Bortles roll out? Don't care. WR Screen blown up because nobody can block? That's totally his fault! Geez, you guys need to chill.
Joking right?
How many PA passes do we call on 1st down? How many RB screens did we run today (one was called in the first half, that's it)? How many WR screens for losses are called? It maybe wasn't his worse game but the dude stinks as an OC.
That read option on 3-6 in the 4th QTR pretty much reminded me why I hate Jedd Fisch's playcalling
Its laughable there are still people defending this guy.

Not only that but the series before BB5 sprained his foot (leaving him in a boot after the game) why call a play that there is no way he is gonna run with a hurt foot? #firefisch
