Quote:Unbelievable.

I'd honestly prefer to play bama then Oregon in the first round.

I'm not so sure I agree with that.  I think FSU would stand up physically to Oregon better than Alabama and as far as speed goes they are probably just as fast.

I feel like FSU/Bama would be a better national title game.  Those are the best two teams to me.

Oregons big play ability makes me nervous since the Noles D biggest issue is giving up big plays. Bama has less weapons on offense. Their D has also been shaky.
I don't go to espn.com very often, but its been slow at work...  Towards the bottom there is a question asking if FSU moving to #4 was fair or unfair.  The result was 58% said it was fair to 42% saying it was unfair.

Doesn't mean anything, but I thought it was interesting.  Fyi, I voted unfair.

Suck up! Tongue

Yea after sleeping on it I agree with this. It would be a great game and we would get the game all the ACC and SEC fans wanted to see play out. The best of the SEC against the best of the ACC.
It's the Big 12 Bias creeping in. TCU and that ol Big 12. Unbelievable.

ive heard so many FSU fans that say that they would rather play alabama than oregon. so much hubris...... hahahhahahaha

Quote:The committee is constructing logic to do what they want to do after the fact. By the criteria they supposedly had going in, no way should FSU be #4. Ridiculous.

I disagree. And what in the world does "constructing logic to do what they want to do after the fact" mean?

They are charged with selecting the best teams right now. Any non-prejudiced observer would probably see FSU as the ninth or tenth best team in the country. I think they are getting a break, based on being undefeated and the defending national champions.

Do you not think there are (or can be) one-loss teams that are superior to an undefeated team?
Honestly, I don't care if TCU jumped FSU.. As long as FSU makes the playoff's, it's all good..

:'(

I just don't understand the committee's logic. They praise Alabama for coming back in the fourth to beat Auburn but hold it against FSU.
Quote:This is it exactly.  FSU fans should be happy they are #4.  Now they have a much shorter trip to root for their team.  I'd imagine people would turn up in droves to New Orleans to support the Noles.

It would suck to drop down, but in the bigger picture its better.  There is no way Ohio State jumps to 4.

Actually there is a way Ohio State moves up to #4. That is not a jump, just a small step on the ladder, and only requires one top four team to lose if the Buckeyes win. That should be pretty obvious.

FSU has barely beaten a lot of mediocre teams, and needed some fortunate circumstances to do it.  that's obviously why the committee is not thrilled with them.

honestly, they're getting in with a win vs GT.  so these cry baby fits are not necessary.

im almost astonished that there is debate with this.

Would you praise a quarterback who threw four interceptions in the first quarter against an unranked team at home? Florida should have won that game.
@badger

Should probably hold off on the 'cry baby' name calling considering your signature seemingly calling for mature debate. On the other hand, just be yourself and change the sig.

@Achilles

What my statement means is that they decide where they want the teams and then figure out reasons that make sense to put them in that order. That's why one week they're citing 'game control' and the next they're talking about Alabama showing grit by coming back.

hold on everybody, the internet volunteer police has arrived

Not at all. Maybe we want the match up that everyone else wants. Maybe we would just prefer it to be settled on the field instead of by message board posters like yourself. And maybe we feel we have a good shot at beating them. It isn't a stretch to think FSU, defending champs and team who hasn't lost in 28 games could beat the mighty elephants.
