He played great with how horrible the OL played

Just repeating what he said so I guess he's dumb which is also correct

Quote:I wouldn't say breakout but he didn't commit turnovers which is good. A game manager is fine when your D is making plays. The Cincy game the D made play after play and Bortles just gave them the ball right back and that was a huge problem.Bortles won this game with his legs and some key throws.

We are down by 2 and our rookie QB leads a long drive for the win. You can't ask for much more than that.

Lost his voice.....kid was screaming after the win

Quote:This season, sure. I'd much rather he played smart this year and takes only takes shots he feels confident with as he continues to learn the NFL. Much better than throwing 3 picks a game and destroying his confidence.Maybe not Garrard, though.
If he's a game manager in season 3 I'd be dissapointed, then again I'd much rather have Alex Smith as our QB than Gabbert, McCown, Bouman, Garrard and Leftwich.

I hesitate to call it a breakout game, but I think it was a significant step forward. He limited his mistakes and made enough positive plays with his arm and with his legs to pull out a victory largely fueled by the defense.

That TD to Lee was a beauty. But he's got to show more.

Yep, he played within himself this game and didn't really force many passes like he's done throughout the season.

Not a breakout but perhaps he turned a corner.

I wouldn't call it a break out game. He did play his best football but honestly he can do better with better OL. Breakout game for Bortles in my book would be 300+ yards 2+TD 0 pics and 65 percent+ completion percentage.

He was sacked 7 times. If the o-line were reliably decent he could definitely do better.

Breakout game??????/ Hardly, but his most impressive stat was NO TURNOVERS OR INTERCEPTIONS. When the Jags had the ball there ar the end and were pushing forward, how many besides me was sweating bullets thinking on boy here we go.............he's just gonna throw a pick. Not to be and the Jags walk away with a win. DEFENSE won this game today folks and Bortles helped it along by not making any turnovers.

EDIT: some of it is Fisch but 80 percent OL 20 percent Fisch

A lot of it is fisch. The offensive line has had big assignment problems. When you spread a defense out with 4 or 5 wide then the defense has to show their front more clearly. The Jaguars are losing because of execution AND scheme.
