FSU isn't guaranteed playoffs. If they lose to g tech then they're gonna get bounced.


But if FSU wins bigjohn should be confident in that bet, you should try to get some of the other fear the spear geniuses in on it too.

Seems slanted, why dont you pick your horse too. That would be more fair than a field bet.

Bigjohn says a lot of really biased FSU stuff but I at least get the feeling he's halfway intelligent.

Not really. Most fans don't want to see their rival, no matter when it is. When the Gators were in the national title hunt I still wanted to see FSU lose, routinely.

I think they are chanting it as a retort to the SEC fanatics with their SEC chant. SEC always thinks they are step ahead of everyone (and they probably have good reason to think so given how dominant the SEC has been as far as winning the last how many CFB titles), but to me, it is still idiotic to be triumphantly cheering for rival schools (or teams) just because they play in your division or conference.

 

THEIR team had success...not YOUR team, so why cheer?

I talked to a guy I used to work with back in Jacksonville last year before the BCS Championship game. He's a big time Alabama fan and he told me he was rooting for Auburn against FSU because he wanted to "keep it in the SEC." You'll never catch me rooting for Miami if they make it to a national championship game (luckily we shouldn't have to worry about that for a long time).

Ive explained it to death before. Iron sharpens iron. It trickles down and makes the whole conference better.


Even if you don't believe that, chew on this. They say perception is reality. If the perception is that the SEC is the best and the conference benefits because of I t, then why not be happy a team in the conference wins. The success of the whole.


Can't compare college and pro. Two completely different beasts. If an SEC team is playing an OOC game then I want the SEC team to win. It's not putting on a t shirt and a hat and rooting for them. It's simply wanting them to win.


The reason people say they "don't get it", don't like it, hate it, etc is born out if jealousy.
