You guys are funny. He finally has a game with more TDs than INTs, almost came back to win against a first place team in a tough environment and you still complain.

He showed improvement. And he will continue to do so.

He nearly threw FIVE int's. He deserves every bit of criticism until he proves otherwise.

In what ways did he show improvement?

He had probably more terrible decisions/passes this week than he did last week.  The only difference is that Cincinatti kept dropping INTs.

I'm looking at more than just the box score.  Yes, he did move the ball - but he moved the ball last week as well.  He needs to clean up the turnovers because they are killing us.
Dolphins destroyed the chargers btw
Quote:Hurns bailed him out on 3 throws

WRs are allowed to come back to the ball. Considering the Jaguars haven't had a receiver that will fight for the ball for a decade, I understand why you were probably unaware of this.

He's been moving the ball but again.... Turnovers in the redzone.

Learning how to score in the redzone is probably the toughest thing to learn as a QB.

He needs that Bye week so bad to help clean up a ton of mental and mechanical mistakes.
Quote:Stats looked better. Did not pass the eye test at all. Lots of bad decisions.

I completely agree. He has flashes, but he doesn't look very good right now with decisions and progressions.

He's a rookie,, it's to be expected. But, it needs to be cleaned up alot by next year.

2nd TD to Hurns today was lucky for Bortles IMO. 2 defenders,, underthrown,, CB standing there waiting in the pick.

Luckily Hurns fought back to the ball while the CB just stood there.

Pretty sure the rules of football state that a WR can't come back and get the ball.  The Refs have been lenient on us this year.  I mean throwing more than 5 yards down the field isn't allowed.  And WR's aren't allowed (and definitely aren't supposed to) adjust to the ball.  Also pretty sure you're supposed to have at least one turnstile on the O-line at all times.
better than we've seen.  hurns def bailed out bortles but that could be how he likes the ball to be thrown to him for all we know.

Could be.
What did bortles score on his wondelic -5?

What'd you score?  Or did they rip up the test wondering how you came up with the answer you did?
Did Lee play at all? Defense played poorly for too many stretches. The bottom of the roster guys on Special Teams.....pathetic. Scobee seemed to take the heart out of the comeback attempt. You could just tell.....Gus was cursing.....don't know if anyone else saw. All in All, Hurns, The Robinsons, Bowanko, Linder, Davis, Marks Telvin and Bortles are the core.......the others are suspect right now
Peyton just had a pass that "should" have been intercepted. Guess he sucks too.

Yeah his INT was a bad decision and he made some others. But at the end of the day, those balls were not intercepted. That's improvement. He found a check down instead of throwing into double or triple coverage under pressure multiple times. That's improvement.

He had a better overall game than Dalton.

Quote:First 3 quarters Blake was absolutely horrible.  I do not believe it was Blakes fault though.

He only threw one.  Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

yeah, lets just sweep those horrible throws under the rug.

I really strongly believe this kid is not the answer.... his decision making is putrid, i have yet to see improvement in my book, it doesn't take a whole year to show at least something... sure hes athletic and can make plays with his feet (Barely) but his whole IQ for the game is so off. He looks like Ryan Leaf did out there
That said hopefully he proves me wrong, i would love that
