I agree that he made too many poor decisions today.  Is he seeing ghost or just scared?  He was throwing into double and triple coverage.  He should of had 3 to 4 ints today.  He will get better but it's a pain to watch right now.

If you guys can't see it you're blind...

Hurns bailed bortles out.... Bortles has regressed and honestly it's not looking to good.... To many back ups come in and put up numbers... Everyone is balling except him... I'm sick of the excuses. He's makjng horrible decisions
Quote:He only threw one.  Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
Well he actually has thrown 13 interceptions and can't go a game without throwing one. Fandom seems to blind a lot of people from reality. Today he didnt look good the Bengals just didnt make the plays presented to them like gifts.
I think the coaches giving Henne all of the offseason snaps with the 1's also has hurt his development.

Quote:Improvement, good to see.

These comments make me really think you didnt watch the game. He was atrocious. He had at least one pass or more that should have been intercepted that wasn't. He was staring down receivers nonstop the entire game. A lot of the yardage came when the Bengals were just trying to play prevent. His first TD pass to Hurns was absolutely horrid, and Hurns made an amazing veteran type move to stop and run back to the ball knowing it was underthrown the entire time just to throw off the CB.

Bortles did not have a good game at all, and it's really coming into question whether this staff has the knowledge to properly coach him through his mistakes and make him better because I'll be honest, his throws are becoming worse and worse as each week goes by. I really don't care who flames me for saying that, it's really the truth. I'm willing to wait until the end of the following year to see where he's at before making a final judgement, but it's not pretty right now.

This is all true and will remain true until Bortles proves it otherwise.

^^^ I mean look what the Bills did with Manuel, they bring in Kyle Orton and boom Wins appear, same thing will happen to Bortles... its not magic
Quote:I wouldn't call it improvement...he had 3 or more balls that would be INTs against a good defense.

If the D was that good (And Cincinnati is a Good D) as one's say' those 3 or more balls would've/should've been INTs...

I See Progress...

NH3...
Quote:Peyton just had a pass that "should" have been intercepted. Guess he sucks too.

If he throws 4 of those, then yes he sucks for this game.
Bortles didn't play nearly as well as the numbers suggest.  He was bad on multiple levels with spurts of decent and a few great plays by receivers bailed him out. Not to mention three dropped picks by the bungles.

He threw the ball right at the defender theres literally no way around that
I had a pretty sketchy stream - when people say "the Bengals dropped 4 INT's", were they really in their hands, or just passes defenced?

Quote:Except they weren't.

Garrard's magical season was showered with INT's that weren't...

If you were a fan during that time, you'd realize that.

With that said, yeah, BB5 is still a rookie and will hopefully figure things out.

However, the OC is very concerned with giving the QB opportunities to make plays.   We see way too many safe calls and bunch formations when the game is still in question.

We only see the offense open up when the game is already out of hand,

Therefore, we must consider the fact there are 2 possibilities...

1...  The OC is bad

2...  The QB is bad

I'll allow the QB to be bad based on the inexperience.  However, it's concerning that the rest of the youth on this team is light years ahead of the QB's  progress

They also gave Manual longer than 5 starts

This is because EJ Manuel is complete crap and Kyle Orton has never been a bad QB.

What is your point?

Bills plugged Orton in and they look like a different team, we plug Bortles in and it remains the same.

Point?

they were all both hands on the ball drops

I saw three easily catchable "non-picks."  But… I had a sketchy stream too.  I'll check NFL  rewind later.
Quote:lol @ improvement when Cincy dropped at least 3 ints

Ill never get people trying to use this stuff like every QB doesn't get lucky that some defenders can't catch.

Happens every game, to every QB, usually multiple times.

Manning just threw a god awful pick, leading to a TD and Brady fit some balls into gronk that he had to totally fight for. That's football. For every team.

But we are a young team, right?

Bortles looks worse than Manuel ever has
