Ehh I cant remember ever seeing him throw a memorable block. I think we are just reaching for some kind of use for him. That salary makes us stuck with him but I think that takes away carries from our other backs.
I still think Caldwell is doin a good job but he missed on this pickup but it seemed like such a good move at the time. I bought it for sure.
I think dude can play. He got the wrong start with Henne in there facing 10 man fronts. Dude will be a nice back to have as the line starts to gel.

I agree with this. Can't bash Caldwell for that move.
I believe in Toby Gerhart inasmuch I accept that he exists.
Quote:1. Gerhart has been hurt since week 1.  He has missed a couple of weeks in a row from playing with the injury.  I want to see what he can do healthy

2. This offensive line has just started to get it's act together.  Combine that with Bortles making teams respect the passing game.  Other teams not stacking 9 and 10 in the box will open the running game.

3. Toby has shown what he can do with a solid offensive line. I believe he will be a good runner here in Jacksonville.

4. Jed Fisch was not playing to Toby's Strength.  He is a north and south runner and not the east and west game that Fisch kept calling.  I believe with the oline playing better and more inside runs he will see success.

I believe
Bet the farm we stack the box. I will seriously be surprised if it is different. Bortles is going to be good, but he has not been good so far.
I hope they do, because if that is the case, Bortles will make them pay.  Oh, and by the way, his 78.4 percent completion percentage set a record for a rookie quarterback's first start. If you think that was purely accidental, you're not the brightest bulb in the box.

Toby played very well and had good games with AP was out with the vikings.  I can see some of you eating crow when he comes back in healthy.   The only time he was healthy here was the beginning in week 1 where we were playing with a horrible offensive line and some bum at center that got benched.

He's been pretty good.

I wouldn't worry about that.
Quote:MJD shined while hurt and while having 9-10 in the box because he had talent. Toby needs a great oline and be at 100% health to maybe show something. ... but it wont happen. Why do people call him a north south runner? When has he ran someone over? When has he powered thru anyone?

He hasn't and will not. He sucks. It's like Henne. No matter what, he still sucks.

It happens he looked like a stud in Minnesota. Looking back makes you wonder how under rated is that line?
It will be interesting to see what he can do behind a little run blocking.

Gerhart has been disappointing but people who call him Slowby make me laugh. He's a power runner not a scatback. I think there is a lot of truth to the point people make about him running early behind a line in flux. They forget the other backs were also performing poorly at that time. Most recently he's been injured.

With that said, I'm not sure D-Rob isn't the better option even if Gerhart is healthy. Gerhart is the kind of back who will need a lot of attempts to get rolling and he hasn't shown any durability yet. Also, although he flashed some big play ability in Minn, he hasn't demonstrated that here whereas D-Rob has.
That foot injury and playing behind the line before they started to play better together didn't help him.  Hopefully he can turn it around.  I'm hopeful for Denard but having multiple guys who are threats with the ball can only help the offense and Blake.

If he's truly healthy, guess we'll see sunday.

It would be great to have a runner than can bulldoze through and get the short yards on third.

Personally I think he's just too big,

guys built like MJD can power and wiggle on through the opponents line.

Good point. He almost always had solid games and even a few pretty good ones starting in place of AP. One has to think that a little bit of that had to be him, though...right?
Toby is going to be productive when he gets back recovered from his injury

Are his eyes injured also?
